2016 Bowls
Here are our bowls for this upcoming season. Assuming our champion qualifies for a NY6 bowl, we will have 9 slots for 12 teams. 10 if the proposed Austin bowl gets off the ground, as it is supposed to. Also, if Navy is bowl eligible, and not in NY6, I believe they will automatically go to Armed Forces Bowl. Will all the slots be filled.

Cotton Bowl vs. At Large (Fiesta and Peach are part of playoff).
Birmingham Bowl vs. SEC
St. Petersburg Bowl vs. ACC
Military Bowl – vs. ACC
Armed Forces Bowl – vs. Big 12
Miami Beach Bowl vs. MAC
Bahamas Bowl vs. MAC
Boca Raton Bowl vs. Conference USA
Cure Bowl vs. Sun Belt

RE: 2016 Bowls
I may be wrong but I don't believe BYU has a bowl tie-in this year. If not, I'd look for them in the Miami Beach.

RE: 2016 Bowls
tells me that if Memphis can get to 6-6, we'll make a third straight bowl...Orlando could be fun in December.
if we have a good season, I'd love to get an ACC team in St Pete...nice beaches, good opponent.

I just hope so, I think we're going to beat each other up maybe lose the New Year's bowl to Boise, I hope not.

Injuries can derail a season fast and happen unexpectedly, as you and i are both well aware of after last season my friend. We both lost our QBs and watched our seasons toilet bowl

I know I hate this dead period of sports. Since I'm not a big basketball fan it makes it even worse.

RE: 2016 Bowls
I thought we had flexibility to try and get a P5 opponent to Miami, but that didn't happen last year... I guess if no P5 has more teams than bowls, we don't have anyone to pursue...
That said, 4 P5 games (5 if Access) is pretty good considering our standing in the world of CFB. I think our bowls improve a bit next round. Like our TV deal, we were negotiating under extreme instability and zero history. Now we are better on both fronts.

Been said before, Boise is our number one threat (by far) for the access. Hopefully they keep slipping from their pretty unsustainable record...

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Navy gets the AF bowl this year of eligible. It's a pre-AAC tie in that is to be honored.

I'm a fan of the summers with World Cup Soccer. That cuts the time between the end of basketball and the start of football pretty well.
