You can have him recruiting for you or against you. I think I know which I'd prefer

We had 4 teams with at least 23 wins & 6 teams were in the RPI top 160. Two were at the lower end of mediocre. The bottom 6 are on par with the SWAC.

NBR -- How did the SDSU Aztecs finish in the NIT semifinal game tonight against the George Washington Colonials team? SDSU had two assistants (#4 & #16) on the list and GW had one (#22). The winner of that game faces Valpo - which also has one coach (#10) on the list - in the NIT Championship game. Valpo defeated BYU for that spot in the NIT finals.

"One thing is for certain, whether he follows Haase to Stanford or succeeds him at UAB, talent will be in abundance."

I like that.

"This complete coach was elevated from a volunteer GA to a full-time assistant at Maryland by 25. Recognized for his advanced basketball IQ, the now associate head coach at UAB has become one of the best in the country. Haase will make no bones about it, Ehsan can flat coach! Several Division I Athletic Directors have come calling, however, Ehsan will wait for the right fit."

We really need to keep him here.

Where did Ehsan play in college? Did he have a connection to Gary Williams?

Rob played in college at UC Davis. Started his coaching career with Williams at Maryland. Don't know if he had previous relationship with Williams. Started as grad assistant at Maryland.

Interesting. I was just curious how he ended up with Williams if he didn't play under him.

I did a lot of digging and wasn't able to come out with how he went from California to Maryland. If he gets the job he's promised me an interview. I'll get more details then.

Thanks. I'd be curious to find the answer to that. I am ignorant as to how coaches rise through the ranks, especially if there wasn't a direct player-coach connection to begin with.

He started as a GA at Maryland.
Guessing someone who knew Williams got him the opportunity.
Media guide doesn't go into detail.

Press him for an interview if he doesn't get the job too. That might even be more interesting.
