Light rain downtown at 4:30p. However, the rain clouds are so scattered its going to be a random chance whether its raining at game time or not.

However, there's an "All You Can Eat" Promotion at Reckling tonight. That might get expensive if there's a multi-hour rain delay. :-)

Lineup:

Warren
Wunderlich
Chandler
Proctor
Myers
DiCaprio
Lewis
Teykl
Kopycinski

Amador

I'm assuming from this lineup that we're going against a left-hander, but still no word. Not sure why a guy hitting .222/273/.306 is batting in the #2 hole. Makes little sense to me, especially since his bunting hasn't exactly been dependable either.

Pitcher for SHS....

Colin Cameron (Fr, RHP): 7 app, 8.0 IP, 1.12 ERA, .250 BAA, 3 BBs, 7 Ks

...first career start. Sounds like they're going with "all staff".

SHS got a leadoff bunt single, followed by a sac bunt, but Willy stranded him at 2B with a fly out and strikeoutK.

Warren flied out to CF.
Wunderlich popped to 2B.
Chandler grounded out to 2B.
That was quick. Once again, we're not working the count at all, despite going against a Freshman making his first start, and with limited innings. Some things never change.

Scoreless heading to the top of the second inning.

We were aggressive last Tuesday and aggressive all weekend. No sense in changing that.

Note: Please see bottom of the second inning

1-2-3 inning for Willy (2 strikeoutsKKK, fly out).

Proctor grounded out to 2B.
Myers infield single, advanced to 2B on E-6. One out. Situational hitting says hit it to the right side to at least move the runner.
DiCaprio RBI single! 02-13-banana And Leo did hit to the right side. Well done!
Lewis popped up to 1B. Runner on 1B, two outs.
Teykl single. Runners on 1B and 3B, two outs.
Kopycinski lined out to CF. Tough break. Well hit.

Good guys take a 1-0 lead heading to the top of the third inning.

Geez, the #8 and #9 hitters lead off the inning with back to back singles. Runners on the corners, no outs.

Chandler steals 2nd and just barely beats the tag. Dropping the pickoff average for the catcher...

DiCaprio strikes out to end the inning after Cameron loads the bases on back to back walks.
The rain/mist has stopped at least. Not even dripping off the net anymore.

Willy limits the damage to one run, stranding a runner at 3B. Excellent baserunning netted that run, with the runner going from 1B to 3B on a no-out single through the left side. That normally should never happen, as the LFer has a short throw to 3B.

Warren grounded out to 2B. Our left-handed hitters are trying to pull this guy, and save for Teykl, have only pulled the ball into the ground.
Wunderlich popped to 1B. Again, why do we have a guy with an OBP well below .300 batting in the #2 hole? Defies logic.
Chandler single to CF. Two outs.
Chandler stole 2B against a catcher who has thrown out 60% of attempted basestealers.
Proctor walked. Runners on 1B and 2B, two outs.
Myers walked to load the bases with two outs.
DiCaprio struck out. Ugh.
SHS's starter has now worked his longest outing of the year.

Scoreless heading to the top of the fourth.
