To add: I don't ever want UaB to be viewed as the SEC minor leagues.

It's a sign of a closed-minded, provincial attitude. UAB is a world-clas institution and needs to act like one in every aspect, not like Polk County High.

There's a whole wide world on the other side of the trailer park fence, Kev.

Not sure of the point you're trying to make but Scarbos point is still valid. Dismissing a candidate just because he has ties to an SEC school is completely ignorant.

His point is made in blissful ignorance of the 337 programs not part of the SEC. The ACC just set a record for NCAA tournament credits. I only see one candidate listed with ties to ACC programs.

On the other hand, maybe it's a plus that no one working for an SEC program is still coaching at this point in the season. All of the SECjects are available for interviews.

Now with that said, Ingram doesn't listen to anyone, so it's not like he's going to take Kevin's suggestions.

Scarbinksy is getting even shockingly closer to abandoning all pretext of his articles being anything but trolling.

Next week's article: "Hey UAB Fans!!!! You listening?!?!? **** off!!! " and people (general readers, not just blazer fans) will click and comment away

To be more specific Kevin ,,,,I dont want the auburn or georgia assistant coach
The NBA connection is worthless in college basketball
I will like TJ but since the new rule ,,this style of play is difficult to win with
IT is a no brainer hire, we got a young team and we have a guy who recruit them ,,,,if he fail he will be in 3 or 4 years and if he win he will be leaving for a more money ,,,

Does person have the recruiting reputation that ehsan does? I know that's supposed to be persons one claim to fame, so to speak. Just wondering if he has a better reputation in that regard over ehsan.

RE: Scarbo: Anti-SEC Sentiment Has No Place in UAB Coaching Search
Kevin is off here. I think the sentiment is every time that there is an opening the media tries to push every washed up or young SEC coach on us without any consideration to coaches from other leagues, even our own. It's where they look first. If it was say TJ (Style still works, see NCAA tourney and NIT this year, teams ran it) or Andy Kennedy I doubt you would see much push back.

I don't think we are opposed to an SEC guy per say. We just get irritated the media tries to shove all the sec guys down our throat without any consideration to anyone else. There are several assistants in the SEC that are really good but look at the ACC, my goodness there are some good coaches there. There are even some good C-USA assistants.

Just as annoying as damn near every time we have a coach interviewed they have to ask an SEC question during a UAB interview. I don't see them asking Saban about C-USA.

I also don't understand Kevin's man Chuck with chuck person other than I think he was playing when he was Auburn's beat writer. Maybe that's it.

Everyone wave to Kevin

Hasn't been in the college game except for the last year or so.

Team he coaches on hasn't done that much different than previous 2 coaches' teams.

Hey, is Barbee available? He does have coaching experience.

Kevin would have still been typing his television-critic columns when Chuck Person was playing, tossing in absolute non-sequitur song lyrics as though that made him hip, covering up a lack of confidence in his own writing.

Last year I thought he'd really turned a corner as a writer and reporter, turning in some thoughtful, well-written and well-reported pieces. Now he's slipped back to phoning it in, and that's sad.

There were 1,346 D-1 college basketball coaches this past year outside the SEC. Surely ONE of them's worth discussing.

agree 100 % with your post and paul post
i AM SO freaking sick of the sec mouth feeding ,,,,if the sec guy is the best coach available ,,,yes take him but they are not the best , far from the best and we dont want to hear about it

if the auburn guy is the coach ,,,nice seat behind the bench will be available
