Michigan's Spike Albrecht Grad Transfer
Might be damaged goods, and not even sure the Tigers would meet his criteria, but maybe worth a look....

RE: Michigan's Spike Albrecht Grad Transfer
“I’m pretty open to anything,” Albrecht said. “I’d like to go to somewhere where we’re going to win, somewhere where I’m going to play and somewhere that there’s a culture much like the culture here at Michigan, with good people and good coaches.”

Welcome to Memphis?

Welcome to Memphis?

Yeah, that's why I mentioned the part about "meeting his criteria."

C'mon. Two hip surgeries to add to a kid who's was already limited in skillset. Not to mention he's 5'10 on his tiptoes.

Which is why nobody on this board holds the position of Director of Player Personnel.

Lol, our "criteria" at this point consists of 1) are you still breathing; 2) do you have two legs. And #2 is negotiable.

As I said, he might be damaged goods. But before he can play anywhere, he'd have to be cleared medically. When/if that happens, the guy knows how to play, comes from a rugged conference, and he's tough as nails.

Being 5'10" might be an issue, too, but we've seen much softer players who have six inches on this guy. Not saying the Tigers should pursue him, but one thing the Tigers really need is grit.

Michigan's Ricky Doyle will transfer, per release. Two years of eligibility remaining.

fyp

He was an unrated player out of high school who had a memorable game vs. Louisville.

He played backup minutes his first two years and started for a 16-16 Michigan team, played 32 mpg, averaged 7 ppg and had 4 assists.

He, then, had bilateral hip surgery this past year.

At BEST he is a 8 point 4 assist guy. That is IF he is healthy, which he likely is not.

Basically he's a short poor man's Avery Woodson. Or Michigan's (better) version of Skylar McBee.

You may want to temper your idea of what this class is going to look like.

If it comes down to wasting a schollie on Spike, going after a 2 year JUCO with a pulse, or taking a flyer on a HS big, Spike is my last choice.
