RE: He Is Risen!!
The same thread has taken place on this board every year for as long as there has been a "this board." You know it's coming. If you don't like it don't click on it. By the same token I suppose it's ok to hop in and let people know you're butthurt that you had to read something Christian and need a safe place to recoup your feelings, but honestly it's probably better to just leave it alone the 2-3 days a year this happens. Some people consider the others on this board family and they want to share their joy and beliefs with family.

So, in short, you can tolerate others right to express their faith a couple days a year or you can be an asshat fascist and insist that your rights are somehow infringed upon by their rights and make a big deal about it.

Just as I mentioned a couple of days ago. The religious post that I knew was coming. Why hasn't this post been removed as the others were?

Dude. If you're not of the faith that celebrates a holiday, wouldn't have been just as easy to skip this thread?

Anywho, Happy Easter, CUSA friends.

Since religion has no place in politics wouldn't it be best to leave it at home?

Just let people enjoy their holiday. I'm not religious, but don't really see the need to **** on other people celebrating something important to them.

Sure. As long as they do it in the proper forum.

P.S. This isn't it.

Remarks, like this pic above or any others, amaze me. I'm sorry that those of you that don't choose to believe and have faith, but please don't bring sarcasm to us Christians they share our love for Christ.

Our job is not to try to "make" anyone believe, but to share the Gospel and lead by example that Christ Lives!! It's up to you to open that door when you hear that knock.
May God Bless each and everyone of you..!

If it's not your job to "make" others believe then why are you so fond of bringing it up where you know it isn't appropriate?

I agree.

While I agree that the thread is off topic, there is usually a thread for Christmas as well, which I'll admit is a far more secular holiday, if they wish to celebrate Easter here, I'm not going to tell them not to.

Apologist scum.

But I mean, everyone can express their own opinions, right? Unless they conflict with yours, that's is.

The problem isn't necessarily with Happy Easter. It's with all the proselytizing with the "He is risen" bull****.

P.S. Are you suggesting that LaCajunsFan's opinion wasn't welcome? Hypocrite!

Yes indeed. You are 1000% correct. Hate it when folks try to force their religious beliefs on everyone, even in a venue that NOTHING to do with religion.

"Forcing their religious beliefs on everyone"?

You realize clicking this thread was completely voluntary, right?

Not only that, you apparently sought it out on the CUSA board. 03-lol

You do realize that this isn't the proper forum for delusions. Right? I think you're looking for a church or maybe the 10th century.

But, but, but… they are being oppressed because they can't proselytize wherever they want. They're being oppressed because they can't use their religion to coerce their politicians into oppressing others.

Sorry if that hurt you, but I think you will be more amazed about this, my 2 cents about my religion. I'm a complicated guy who is not an atheist but at the same time I do not believe in Gods but I believe in their teachings. I'm a Buddhist, Christian, Jainism and a Hindu guy. I learn their teachings but don't believe that I have to worship and praise the Gods personally. See sharing the gospel story is ok with me because it teaches you good values and lessons, and I often read the Bible and have been to church way more than you can think. But then praising those people in gospel personally is something of a no no to me. Just as Jesus said not to worship idols, pillar or images, he didn't add himself because the bible would be irrelevant without him. But I think what he meant was to spread the gospel, and teachings but dont praise him, praise and spread the teachings.

And you still think the bible is a "good" book?

"Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey."(1 Samuel 15:3)

“Happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us – he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.” (Psalm 137:9)

‘Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt-offering on one of the mountains that I shall show you.’ (Genesis 22:2)

“Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel.” (1 Peter 2:18)

Yeah, it's such a lovely book.

Hi, I'm oldtiger, a long time member and now a visitor from the past with some longer term relationships. Good to meet you, thank you for the warm welcome.

If I had posted that it's raining in Portland, I wouldn't necessarily be forcing being a weatherman on you. I'm also not forcing any beliefs of any other kind on anyone. You'd ignore the raining comment or call me a knucklehead and move on. Fell free to do the same on this topic.

This subject has been an annual thread in this forum many years. I realized that I didn't remember seeing it the last couple of years, so I thought I'd kick it off.

This CUSA board has always been full of friendly, easy going fans; which has set it apart from other conference boards. If that's changed with the shuffling of members, so be it. I'll get the message of a moderator requests that I leave or if I'm banned from this particular board. Otherwise, I'll drop by to respectfully say hello/discuss topics with long time friends and leave singular Merry/Happy/etc non-offensive messages at holiday times.

No need to respond.

Yeah. Well that comment isn't based on a delusion that warps peoples' sense of reality.

It is never to late, slinger...but one thing God doesn't forgive is blasphemy, which you are very close to. One thing that always perplexes me is the response by a lot of non-believers to those that believe. When I come across someone talking what I believe is nonsense, I generally just shake my head and move along never giving it another thought. My suggestion to you is to do the same. Christ told those that believe in him to spread the good news about him to all the world. I will continue to pray for those that reject God and Christ.

Yeah, it's such a lovely book.

Yes, I have proof this exist...the Bible!
Now sir, do you have it doesn't ?

Funslinger, assuming from your "14" straight post of anger about the Bible and your disbelief of a higher Power...I'm sorry to say, but you definitely have some problems and issues. Until you are willing to open you eyes and your heart, you will not see that there is an Almighty God that loves you. You Quoted several scriptures from the Bible, but are defining them the way you want...for example:

‘Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt-offering on one of the mountains that I shall show you.’ (Genesis 22:2)

Do you understand this verse, Slinger ?
God was testing Abrahams faith, by seeing if he would offer his only son as an offering. And he saw how much faith that Abraham had in the Lord when he was going to do what God had asked of him, but up into the very moment that he was going to slay his son, an Angel spoke out from the Heavens and told him not to do it...and God provided a ram that was caught by his horns in a thicket for a sacrifice.

You see, Slinger..it was a test of Faith, and Abraham passed. Our faith today is still tested!

God is love and peace!

I'm sorry you are having trouble accepting...I'll pray for you, but blaspheming God is the ultimate sin. The one good thing is, it's not too late for his forgiveness . That's why God gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, for our Sins and Salvation, by accepting as our Lord and Savior....if you ask for it.
