So does the Pac 12 and B1G.
Maybe...difference is the SEC will also be on the World Wide Leader as well as the SEC Network...bigger platform IMO.

Alabama is the only one on the main ESPN channel from that conference this year. ESPN usually rotates between conferences.

Big Ten doesn't. they have several that are online only. Pac 12 may- but no one gets their network so there's that...
Also main ESPN is showing 1 spring game this year. Alabama. And only 2 on ESPNU- Miss St and Georgia.

I can't wait to find out who is better - the Crimson team or the White team. When will it air, so I can be sure to clear my schedule?

Precisely. I know a lot of college football fans that don't even watch spring games. There are only a few programs that even get people to attend them for crying out loud.
Exposure is during the season, not on a spring Saturday.

My pet peeve is that the four-letter network only allows two hours for the broadcast, but the game isn't over when the two hours is up.

The spring games have progressively become more and more important.
I remember when only the students really paid a lot of attention, much less went.

ND's spring games are always televised on NBC Sports.

Given the season I am expecting out of the Rebels in 2016, I'm kind of bummed out that Ole Miss decided not to have a spring game this year due to stadium construction.
The kings of spring games are usually the same schools and they don't just reside in the SEC. While Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and Florida have had 60-75,000 at their spring games, Penn State, Nebraska and Ohio State reach or go beyond those figures. IIRC, OSU had nearly 100,000 at their game last year.

I love the idea floated here before of having your spring game be your FCS tune-up game. Especially if regionally appropriate. For my team, TN vs ETSU as a spring game would definitely be worthwhile.

I always thought that it would be neat to have a spring football game or two - They'd take the place of fcs games during the fall season and they would count towards next year's bowl eligibility (so that DI can keep up the charade of having 70 "deserving" bowl teams). In theory, spreading the season out would reduce player fatigue and therefore injuries (many injuries are cause by fatigue). And, it would lengthen the season by a game (ban fcs in the fall, add a fall bye game, and add 2 spring fcs games) and increase fan engagement during a dark period (after March Madness). Additionally, by increasing the number of fcs games, fcs schools would be able to have more buy games, which would help fund the rest of their athletic departments. Finally, FWIW, I think that these games would be as "fair" as you are going to get. Both teams would be green and both teams would be well rested (the difference between fcs starters and fbs starters is less than fcs backups and fbs backups).

They pretty much suck....okay to watch your own team but they are as lame as how Midnight Madness has become in Hoops.

How long do you suppose it would be before the AP and UPI were issuing rankings of spring teams? And how long before someone suggests that spring football needs a playoff of its own?
I'm OK with having a preseason fcs game in August that doesn't count in any statistics (and doesn't use any player's eligibility) or count toward bowl eligibility. Then everybody can have 12 FBS opponents and 7 home games every year if the want.

1. They should, so hopefully immediately.
2. Why would you have a mid season playoff? And how would you have a playoff based on 2 games? And who would be in said playoff? And when would you do it?
I can't answer those questions, so my guess is never.
