Charlotte coach suggested for Ga Tech Opening
Quote:One name likely to surface at Georgia Tech is Mark Price. The former Georgia Tech/NBA star is currently Charlotte’s head coach.

Can't imagine they hire him after 1 year and a losing record. Hope not anyway.

You don't want Jeff Capel.

Yes, that seems very premature to me as well.

The rumor down here is that Capel will be Duke's coach when K retires.
The reason for this is because Capel is expendable.

I was going to say that it would be shocking if Capel beats all the other leaves on the Coach K tree for that job. Then I remembered: You don't want to replace the legend, you want to replace the guy that replaced the legend.

And that is their logic.
If Capel works, fantastic. If not, you punt him and bring in the big boy who will be replacing Capel, not K.
