I'm liking this hire. It's a breath of fresh air. I like that Tacko has a guy with NBA experience to learn from.

Dawkins is a good hire for UCF.

Looks like a great hire for his staff...coached in Fla, went to Pac 10 and succeeded, back to Fla.

He made the NCAA 1 time in 8 seasons. 5 of those years he finished in the bottom half of the league. Prior to his arrival Stanford went to 10+ straight NCAA's and regularly contended for the league title.

My bad. I know you didn't mention Leblow. Feel free to. He sucks ass. As an ECU fan I feel obligated to start every basketball comment acknowledging Leblow's incompetence. He is a black eye on the conference.

I'm not so worried about Dawkins ability to coach and win. Even if it's just the NIT, he was able to win that tournament twice in the last 5 years. In that same 5 year time frame, he led a Sweet 16 NCAA team.
To me that shows he can coach when the lights are on.

His first three years as a HC were underwhelming... but it seems like he's been catching up to the game since then.

I know the feeling....we hung onto Conroy as long as you hung onto Lebo; and we had Toledo, etc for far too many years....sucks when the AD/admin won't make a move.

Dawkins is assembling a good staff.

lol, Dawkins has a Sweet 16, two NIT Championships, and left Stanford with a decent record...

I'd hire Dawkins over Lebo...
