McIntyre Set Season FG% Record
No story up anywhere, but it's been reported on twitter that Kaayla set the UT single season FG% record at 64.3%.

Previous record was Latoja Harris at 63.8%, which is also the MAC record ... soooo that should mean McIntyre has also set a new MAC record ... although no one has reported that. Unless she didn't have enough attempts, which is possible. It's a MAC record in my book though.

Congrats Kaayla!! 01-ncaabbs

Fewer than 5 attempts per game but she did make the MAC stat list the last few weeks. That usually indicates she met the standard for inclusion. Interesting. She'll be more of a focus next year but she's still going to be awfully tough.

Once McIntyre started getting playing time and becoming a factor in these games, some teams began making adjustments to try to prevent her from getting the ball inside and then collapsing the defense on her if she did, but she was still able to usually score and although her percentage may have decreased a bit with the extra defensive attention near the end of the season, it still came as somewhat of a surprise anytime she missed a shot.

She has very good soft hands and several moves to the basket that all involve a smooth fluid motion and unlike a lot of her team mates, when she is close to the basket in traffic, she ALWAYS knows where is she is relative to the rim so she is always "taking shots", not just throwing up prayers or jokes.

Hopefully in the off season she can add on some more muscle without jeopardizing her smooth moves but, regardless she is going to be a major asset for the next three years.

As good as her scoring touch was, even at the end of the season, she still was not always aware of her court position on defense and had way too many possessions where she gave up on the play as the shot was going up allowing the other team an offensive board. If she can make big strides in those areas over the summer, she will be one of the top few players in the league.

Congrats to Kaayla!!! Now she needs to focus on her defense and rebounding!!!

At 6 foot (real height) quite small for a center. Need more bigs for help, especially after losing Dorr and Kessler. We have no height.

Does Stephanie Vivenot still have some eligibility?
