I would like to think it could be in order to get us a baseball team, but with the oil downturn I could see it being simply a cost cutting measure.

Sucks that funds have to be shifted to the "money" sports these days. You will get grief like Temple did but best in the long run

SMU called and asked for an increase in my donation. Told them to hold their breath until oil hits $60 again.

Hits $60 and stays there for a while. I think it may be heading back that way soon though. Saudi is really hurting.

I think Title IX numbers are about to change. Tulsa eliminating a men's sport, ECU adding a women's sport.

This Pennsylvanian likes the cheap oil. We did have a nice natural gas drilling operation going but our hate fracking governer is trying to halt it.

A bit shocked considering how much of a golf haven this part of the country is.

Actually is a real shame it was made to make budge for cost of attendance. Not a good sign, hope oil gets back to a respectable number soon. One of our largest employers is making massive cuts (jobs) announced a couple days ago.

How in the HELL can the school that produced Hank Haney give up golf?

Like I mentioned on the UCF site, Tulsa's golf program was always sub par anyways....*
