Remaining Games: Western Conference 5-9 teams
Just looking at the remaining schedules from the other teams and picking the likely winners of those games. It looks like the Grizzlies have a real good shot at getting the 5th seed. In my projection I only had them winning 3 of their last 11. If Portland goes 6-5 then we will get the 5th spot by 2 games so we have a little wiggle room. Houston has a brutal 8 games then 4 easy ones so I am not sure if they are going to make it this year. Portland will probably have the tie breaker if they tie us. We went 2-2 with them but their division record is better.

Parsons done for the year for Mavs

I think the team who can catch the 5th seed is Portland and that's OK

I've got my eye on Portland also. Not sure about the tiebreaker with them. We went 2-2 head to head during this season. I believe next is Conference record. As of now we're 25-19 and they're 24-20 so it's razor thin. Not sure what the 3rd tiebreak is. Maybe it's most games lost due to injury. We'd win that for sure.

It's possible. If we go 3-8 they would have to go 8-3 just to tie us. If we manage to go 4-7 they have to go 9-2. I like our chances. Plus we are slowly getting our guys back.

Been pretty terrible on back to backs with all the injuries. Houston lost to OKC too.

Blazers lost to Clipps at the buzzer, so that is good as well.

RE: Remaining Games: Western Conference 5-9 teams
Updated. Mavericks will probably be the team that is left out this year. It's conceivable that Memphis, Utah and Portland could be in a 3-way tie for 5th place. If we manage to win 3 more games we should be in sole place. If we win 2, Denver and Orlando then it might be a tie. Portland has 7 games left. If they go 4-3 and we go 2-6 then they will tie us. Utah has played very well lately. If they go 6-2 and we go 2-6 they will tie us as well. They have 3 tough teams, Golden State, San Antonio and the Clippers. San Antonio is probably going to be fielding a team like last night except resting Aldridge maybe so they could win that one too. Should be fun. Grizzlies need to get ZBo back in the lineup soon.

Why rush it and risk further injury when we're gonna get curb-stomped regardless?

It's not rushing it IMO. They are supposed to check him at the end of regular season and if he's healthy, then he should play.
