What kind of deal you talking about?
I have been saying for the longest that more people want him out than in. If there is one ounce of evidence to support this accusation I'll bet both josh and the boosters reach some sort of settlement.
No way. 0% chance. It's not Josh's fault that Bowen/Raines/big-money boosters negotiated a terrible contract. What exactly did Josh do wrong here? Sign the contract?
We've been hearing all year how Josh would accept a deep buyout discount, how it's not really a $10.6M buyout because it's budgeted (the kind of accounting brilliance that brought us Enron, Arthur Anderson and Madoff). People sure invent some crazy solutions when the reality is too painful to accept.
Josh is a terrible coach, and he ain't going anywhere, probably for two years.
This is nothing like the accounting scandals you mentioned. Nothing.
As for the buyout, the thought is that Josh and family are so miserable that he would take a discount to get out of town. I still think there are cards being played and this is still a possibility - not a probability, but it is possible.
Possible before next season? If so, there are a lot of coaches making moves right now.

87, the Enron stuff was an attempt at gallows humor. Hence the "accounting brilliance" sarcasm.
But this narrative that since the $10.6M is budgeted, somehow all that we should be concerned with is the cost of the replacement coach and staff is just strange. It's $10.6M. It's the worst contract in college basketball. So the boosters should just suck it up and pay? Fantasy.
And the "Josh is miserable so he won't stick around and collect" narrative is a dream.
It's not that Josh can't get another job, he can't even get an interview.
If by "worst contract", you actually mean the biggest contract for a coach who deserves to be fired - probably.
If you mean the biggest, most one-sided contract. It's just not. I've provided plenty of examples of other contracts with no offset and no buyout and auto-extensions. They're out there and it takes about 2 minutes to find them.

Hey 87. Yes, biggest contract for a bad coach.
