I've never been to a country like the Kingdom. You can walk around in parts and be impressed and perfectly safe and yet if you get too far off the beaten path it may as well be as safe as Afghanistan.

It's a country unlike any other.

I conquered the area of present day Saudi Arabia in EU3 strategy game and converted it to Catholicism. Mecca now has a cathedral. :)

reminds me of TJ....the 5 block area outside of the Pueblo Amigo was off limits on foot....the mayor owned that area and was 30 yrs to the good in that safe space....hell, I watched the policia get taken over by the federales during my tenure....it was a hoot seeing seeing 4 guys in the bed of a pick-up with mounted aks on the corners and the policia with empty holsters.....

I did the revolucion one time in 15 trips (via taxi....had to do it once).....everywhere else I was chauffeured....those were the beginnings of the kidnapping days......

some crazy arse shite that was.....
