According to Calkins.

He was stupid not to take it. We were stupid for countering.

We'd all be happier had he taken it. Everyone except USC of course.

What's the opposite of hindsight?

#buuuuuuuuaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaa

So Josh wouldn't take a coaching job in Los Angeles (a city with over fourteen times as many people as Memphis) at a rich school that has more money than the University of Memphis (endowment of $3.5 bill vs. our $200 million) that doesn't put pressure on the basketball coach because it is football first and plays in a major conference (that has alot of cupcakes) that he played and coached in?

All because you are delusional that the minority of fans that are not enamored with him would like to see him go and are hoping for this?

I bet you were one of the Cal wouldn't leave for UK people weren't you?

Serious question for those of you for thinking I'm nuts (As a reminder, for weeks I've said the best situation for us was that a lower level BcS school offer Josh and we let him walk, and hire a coach that can keep most of the recruiting class)...

If Josh doesn't get better and what we have seen is just what we should expect, how long do you stay with him?

Personally, I understand Pastner could get better. But don't parallel him to Calipari. Calipari got to a slow start, but the guy still had UMass on his resume. All Pastner has is us. And if you aren't providing results (wins in the NCAAs and players drafted high in the NBA), at some point the recruiting will dry up.

FORESIGHT.

This actually probably was worthy of a brand new thread; also posted in CA article thread ...

"Haden (USC) wanted Pastner. He offered him a six-year contract for $3.6 million a year and a $1 million interest-free loan, according to two sources with knowledge of the negotiations."

Depending on the type of cookie you would likely use BAKING Soda or BAKING Powder. Bacon is just bacon so no need for any.

Just goes to show you that money can't turn you into a basketball school. Just ask Alabama and Gregg Marshall.

Don't hurt yourself patting yourself on the back. But since Opie turned down more money to stay here in reality you were wrong. USC still ain't Kentucky and never will be. Maybe Josh will hire your buddy Lionel as an assistant. Then you and Ron Ron can have a circle jerk with him

that really does suck. Everyone at the time would have bashed Memphis for not keeping him but it would have looked like the best move ever now. Sports are annoying

That is precisely what I was going to say. Had we lost Pastner to USC while his tenure was on the upswing here and he then went on to have success, the pundits here in Memphis would be asking "how could we have been so stupid?". Timing the "stock market" is so tricky that experts advise against it but our decision-makers were forced to do exactly that. Easy to sit here after the fact and criticize them.

anyone that believes USC offered Pastner $3,600,000 is loopy, I surprised Geoff is falling for this.

Does Andy Enfield know about this? 03-drunk
