The whole segment was weird.

You have the CA "breaking" a story that Rudd is looking into the possible conflict between Bowen and Pastner with the agent.

Calkins, as a lawyer, should know better than to put blame on the AD for the legalese (or lack thereof) in a performance contract. BUT, would it be a conflict for Calkins to state a "breaking" story from his employer is really a non-issue?

So Parrish had to carry the water for the segment and essentially had to take it to the most illogical extreme to try to justify how this could be an issue.

My only contention is that (taken to the absurd extreme) IF Bowen, in fact, gave Pastner's agent a "hook up" that University legal counsel should have caught that issue.

Furthermore, if the lack of buyout were actually a negotiated component of Pastner staying at Memphis, then Shirley AND legal would have had to be aware of it.

Finally, Bowen was hired in April 2012 ans Pastner was given his extension 11 months later. I assume Bowen had an agent when he signed his deal with Memphis in 2012. Yet somehow the brass at Memphis (Raines and Legal) wouldn't have been aware that the same person (McCutchen's name is ON Pastner's contract) had represented both Bowen and Pastner.

To me, there are no dots to connect. My only curiosity is why Rudd is doing this. It seems he is trying to pinch either Bowen or Pastner.

Parrish has had it in for Bowen since day one. Funny thing is he first claims that Bowen never supported Josh when he scheduled Ole Miss without consulting him. Now he's accusing him of colluding with Josh? Can't have it both ways Gary.

Whineberger used to take calls when he was in the prime spot, and he had a great show. So did Rain Man come to think of it. Memphis Prime Time! That was solid radio right there.

I listened to the whole segment, Calkins did not agree with Parrish and in a way was defending Bowen. Calkins' position was that if anyone was to blame it was likely Raines.
