Looks like our Golf Team is really improving. They finished 2nd today in the 17 team UTSA Tournament in San Antonio. We were the only team under par in today's round.

Wow!! What a fabulous comeback for the Rice golfers -- up from 10th of 17 after the first round!

Rice's final round today was 12 strokes lower than that of the tournament winner, #50-ranked New Mexico. Placing third was #68-ranked North Texas, which finished 7 strokes behind the Owls.

Individually, Mario Carmona placed 2nd (76-71-69=216/E) and Will Voetsch T9 (72-77-71=220/+4).

(BTW, the individual winner was Ohio State's Tee-K Kelly. His first name is really Timothy, but he goes by "Tee-K". His mother, Blue (Kinander) Kelly. was a member of a University of Tulsa golf team (1986-1990) that won the NCAA championship in 1988.)
