RE: Spring Football
I will be interested to see which RS Freshman step up. With a new Oline coach, a few positions should be up for grabs. Myers, Scharping, and Ruka are probably set. Center and guard need to be filled. Who fills Boomers position will be interesting. Will they slide Folliard there. Cheren probably too small. Pugh?!? Also, less penalties from the tight end position.

I'm expecting big things from him this year. Thought for not much experience he played fantastic last year and only got better.

I believe we will be seeing a lot of Shane Evans at either guard or center. Also, I have high hopes for Pugh and think he will be an All MAC linebacker at some point in his time at NIU.

I agree but he does not have the size to move inside. Boomer Mayes was the perfect size.

RE: Spring Football
So coaching moves...

What is listed right now...
Rod Carey - Head Coach
Kevin Kane - Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Mike Uremovich - Offensive Coordinator/Assistant Head Coach/Tight Ends & Fullbacks
Kelton Copeland - Assistant Coach/Running Backs
Brett Diersen - Assistant Coach/Defensive Line/Recruiting Coordinator
Craig Harmon - Assistant Coach/Quarterbacks
Josh Homolka - Assistant Coach/Safeties
Melvin Rice - Assistant Coach/Cornerbacks
Joe Tripodi - Assistant Coach/Run Game Coordinator/Offensive Line

Copeland rumored to be moving to WR which leaves open RBs
Trip is already the run game Cordinator so would he take on RBs and drop OL for BB?

Also no one is "in charge" of Special Teams...so BB for OL and Special Teams?

We still have Payton and Jones this coming year as well at LB.

Ya I am remembering reading that now when he moved over to begin with. Seems just the roster coaching listing has not been updated.

Like I said, I haven’t been on since the bitter ending to the season. BASKETBALL?! He was a heck of a player.. that is disappointing.

TE Coach as you originally posted. 04-clap2

F-Scoop edited their original that said he would handle OL:

Quote:Northern Illinois: Rod Carey is planning to hire former Tennessee Titans offensive line coach Bob Bostad in the same capacity. Prior to joining the Titans Bostad spent two seasons with the Bucs, and prior to that was at Wisconsin from 2006-2011. Update: We hear Bostad will likely coach tight ends and the Huskies will likely adjust the rest of their staff assignments. We’re told NIU offensive line coach Joe Tripodi will remain on staff.
