Eh, not big deal. She's a high school student that just earned a little scholarship money and a pretty cool story. I'm not a fan of the BLM signs and clenched fist, but otherwise I don't see anything to make a big issue of. What concerns me more is the "afrocentric" upbringing and schooling. As an American first, it's perfectly fine to be aware and proud of heritage, but this "afrocentric" phrase seems like a means to discourage assimilation and could lead to further dividing the country. The same goes for any sort of segregated schooling or teachings that put heritage of any kind before being an American.
