I mean Pitino sure but until he gets that show cause and returns you're just going to have to bide your time. These recent hires include the aforementioned Harper whose infidelities were so bad there isn't another D1 school that would even hire him. Then there is Petrino. No explanation needed. Your former women's hoops coach was so dirty that she kept felons on the team and had an assistant coach who was arrested for drug trafficking. Your baseball coach is fresh off being arrested for DUI.

So, I'm thinking you guys gotta go big here. I just don't know how you're going to out do yourselves here. I mean you could go get Mike Jarvis, but he just doesn't have enough "character" of the topper liking. Dave Bliss is out there. I mean there's a guy that would fit right in with the wkcc culture.

But I'm not sure he's big enough. You need a Whitey Berger type hire right now. Going to be tough to find that. Maybe you should just settle for Bliss?

Boy, you have the spare time.

It's hard to ignore the corrupt culture in Bowling Green.

I hope you guys get things cleaned up. I hate to admit this, but C-USA needs a strong topper basketball program if we are to rise up as a league.

Ridiculous. There is no corrupt "culture" in Bowling Green. At the same time some of these athletes are not the best representatives. Those will be gone soon.

Ever hear of glass houses?

We aren't perfect. Not saying we are, but there is definitely a difference. My initial post was meant to be funny, but it's one of those that's only funny because its true. I mean how many schools can claim that many coaches have either committed crimes, violated NCAA rules or wouldn't even dismiss felons? So, yes there is definitely a difference in how your administration handles these situations vice most other institutions. And I didn't even bring up the Swimming and Diving situation or get into the individual player situations. Which IMO is fed upon by a lack of accountability by the leadership there. Perhaps you could save us time by just counting the programs that are clean. I call that a culture. Like it or not it's true.

Crime at mtcc just in March! 121 reported cases! Why is there such a corrupt culture of crime at mtcc? Why is there a apparent lack of accountability by the administration? While other schools have problems there certainly is a difference at mtcc. I call that a culture. Like it or not it's true

It's hard to ignore the corrupt culture in Murfreesboro.

I hope you guys get things cleaned up.

RE: Official WKU Harper replacement thread
I once heard from a much older alumnus of my fraternity that "they" used to call BG "Little Chicago" because of the grift'n'graft and family ties. Also it seems like I'm reading about a shooting at College Place every week since they built it. Living in Brooklyn, I think a little grit and grime in a city and institution is charming, and if you want to climb your way to the top sharpen your nails, yo. I mean, Oral Roberts isn't getting into the Big 12 ever...

Link doesn't work.

But it looks like Stansbury is the most experienced and proven winner of the group. I believe only Felton has previously been a head coach out of that group. If you can get a guy who has proven experience and success as a head coach why would ya'll prefer to test the waters with someone who has never been a head coach?

Stansbury looks to be in the lead at the current moment..2nd Travis Steele associate head coach Xavier 3rd Kenny Payne (UK fraud or Worldwide Wes coddler) 4th Dennis Felton 5th Kurtis Townsend (Kansas Number 1 assistant) last John Phelprey (I think I Just threw up mentioning his name). Those are the 6 candidates from his link and my guess only 2 or 3 of those guys are really in the running....

The longer this goes the more it seems obvious our guy is Stansbury since Texas A&M is still playing..

I just Googled it. Was easier. Good luck with the hire. Like I said a strong red blob basketball is in the best interest of the conference. Cheers.

Felton, Townsend, and Pelphrey all applied for our job, and Townsend was one of the guys who got interviews. From what I understand, we were not impressed with any of them.

I'd say Steele would be your best choice. Stansbury would be the Western Kentucky version of John Brady

Stansbury seemed way more consistent then Brady was in the SEC....I trust our AD to hire the right person..I would be fine with either 2 mentioned, those are my top 2....

True, but after watching what happened here, I sort of see any similar coach in the same light.

I'm surprised you guys haven't tried to get Darrin Horn back.

He burned a few bridges when he left for South Carolina after our 2008 run to the Sweet Sixteen.
