I'll disagree with you on where Josh's nice guy act is played out.

I don't think he's holding anyone hostage and whatnot. He has a contract and he's coaching through it - very, very light emphasis on the word 'coaching'.

I truly think he believes he can turn it around and this is where I think he's not a nice guy - I think he truly believes it's been all on the players for 7 years and that one day, by some work of magic or law of averages, he will have a roster of 13 Opie robotrons who also happen to be great basketball players. I think that's also the improbable hope of those certain supporters who constantly throw players under the bus.

This is why I said what I did about our big money guys being tapped out. Dixon had a 10 year buyout at Pitt. They decided to part ways.

Josh won't budge so we are stuck. But this is what we are wanting to compete against. Schools that have these deep pockets.

Still, I am optimistic that the leadership must know something that we don't and that was key in retaining Josh.

If not, and it was all about money, we are in big trouble moving forward.

We don't know if the administration gave him an option of a settlement. Of course there had to be someone willing to take him and that doesn't seem likely.

Chris Beard at Little Rock gave his guys more grief in one timeout than Josh has in 7 years combined. That's all you need to know about his coaching.

Sorry for typo. I meant the school and fanbase are being held hostage. Not are better by held hostage.

If we had Chris Beard we would all be happy

RE: Rudd, Bowen, Josh, Booster and the Statement
The only thing I can conclude is that the only chance this team has of being good next year is if the Lawson kids return, and there is no way they return without JP guaranteeing daddy a job. Next year, its an easier decision b/c their is no way Dedric stays for 3 years.

One thing is for sure, JP cannot sustain this program. When the Lawson kids leave, its going to be a steady diet of 3 star recruits and JC transfers........playing the same version of AAU ball with less success.

And the Lawson kids ain't all that. Three of Xavier's players could start in front of any of them.

I think Josh now knows that for the last 7 years he has been signing players that can't run an offense or play fundamental basketball for long stretches at a time. He also realizes his players just are not very good against top 25 competition apparently. Once he recruits and signs players that don't need coaching then lookout he will turn this program around. Also for real though he can't not only coach but he can't run a program at all either. I'm so sick of his crap because he sucks at coaching. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest message board people.

We don't have the football tradition, basketball is currently worthless, and other than FedEx Forum, our facilities are crap. Why would the Big XII take us when there are so many other schools interested (Cincy, UConn, Boise ST, etc)?

Our facilities are not crap. One of the things that got us in the Big XII discussion was Iowa State coming to the Liberty Bowl a few years ago.

Outside of our desire to join, we are not in the Big XII discussion.

We are in the discussion, I don't know where we rank.

Boone Pickens mentioned us in an interview, I'd say that's in the discussion.

shh. don't tell them.
