Epic meltdowns in College Hoops History
Three of 'em just happened within the last few hours!
I watched Ball State do virtually nothing against UT-Martin for 38 minutes of the game. With 2:10 left, I disgustingly turned it off when the Cards went down by eleven.
Just when I was about to add a new snarky thread, to be entitled "UT-Martin needs to be invited to the MAC-West", I saw the comment that BSU had won. I didn't believe it until I double-checked on a web scoreboard, then BSU's twitter feed. Unfreaking believable!
Until I watched the end of the Wisconsin-Xavier game. The Badgers tie the game with a 3-pointer with 13 seconds, only to have "X" make a shot with four seconds remaining. Wait, what? The Musketeer gets call for a charge and the basket is taken away. Then the Wisconsin guy buries another three at the buzzer, this time from a sliver away from being out of bounds at the corner. I'll call your unfreaking believable and raise you one.
Finally, somehow, some way, Northern Iowa suffers a meltdown that will NEVER, EVER, be equaled. Some how, some way they forgot how to properly inbound the ball. They led by ten with 34 seconds to go, coming out of a timeout WITH the ball. Texas A&M promptly outscored them 12-2 in that last half-minute WITH ONLY ONE FREE-THROW taken! The game goes into OT, then into double-OT where A&M's depth finishes off UNI. I'll call your two unfreaking believables and raise you my entire life savings and possessions.

Seems like the Miami Whammy got BG years ago when the Falcons were up ten with under a minute to go. Can anyone confirm?

I haven't felt bad for a team not NIU until I watched that UNI meltdown.

No where near the epic failure of UNI due to what was on the line, but January 1991 - Kent blew a 9 point lead to Ohio with under a minute left. A combination of Chad Estis and Rush Floyd 3 pointers did in Kent. They didn't even get to OT. It was actually on some cable channel. The announcers made the statement "Boy, are the Kent students who left early going to be surprised when the get back to their dorms."

RE: Epic meltdowns in College Hoops History
Someone help me but wasn't an epic meltdown (MAC version) during the 1991 (yes, I know some here might not have been born) MAC tourney in Detroit when EMU was down (h)uge and came back to beat BG, I think in the semis...

A year ago EMU and Kent both blew some huge leads to Miami and lost in OT. UMass in 2014 losing after leading us 41-14 in the 2nd was pretty bad too.
