UND has been there 22 times, and won seven. Have to break a seven Frozen Four losing streak though.
Denver has been there 15 times, and won seven.
This is the second Frozen Four for Quinnipiac, which built a new arena in 2007 and raised their hockey profile by going from the AHA to the ECAC.

Does anyone know how much Frozen Four teams get for participating from the NCAA? Tampa has to guarantee $2.5 mill to host. If my memory serves me correctly, the NCAA subtracts it's expenses and divides up the rest among the four teams, if they are full DI schools.

Not trying to start a pissing match because I enjoy college hockey, but Jeff Kolpack was reporting that their was only "hundreds" of actual people in attendance for the Denver vs Ferris regional final. What gives? I get the conference tournament struggles because of realignment but how does the NCAA fix this? As one of the few sports that is revenue positive, I would hope that the panic button has been hit.

St Cloud St lost the day earlier, otherwise it would have been packed. Kolpack only denigrates college hockey anyway, because he's effectively an NDSU spokesperson. Many of those seats were sold earlier, but St Cloud St and Minnesota Gopher fans, who were expecting to be there, had better things to do on Easter Sunday.
The college hockey playoffs can be on campus sites until the Frozen Four, but coaches and AD's have voted against it. College sites would be packed more than FCS playoffs are.

Not really a surprise the league was terrible this year besides Michigan. Hopefully we add some affiliates soon or some other big ten teams move to d1 hockey.
The B1G needs to add quality teams and fire some coaches at Wisconsin and Michigan State, as those coaches have absolutely tanked those programs. In contrast to basketball, college hockey coaches rarely get fired. Last year, I think UND was the only school to hire a new coach and that was because our former one was hired by the Flyers.
Penn State is an example of a great hockey program start that still hasn't paid out with an NCAA hockey appearance. Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern, and Ariz St will only further weaken the B1G.
If Northwestern ever adds ice hockey as a scholarship sport I expect the Cats to be competing with the ivy League programs to talent, not necessarily Big 10 teams. Ivy league programs have shown they can compete well on the ice.

Wisconsin has already fired Mike Eaves and hired Tony Granato. It's a great hire for a historically great program and they should return to competing within the next couple of years.
