Oh, I think this is FAR from over... Several things can happen at this point:
1) Cronin stays at UC. (Unlikely, IMO)
2) Cronin returns to Cincinnati to "consider" UNLV's offer, meets with his team and the University, and announces he's leaving for UNLV.
3) Negotions with UNLV continue through Cronin's agent and in several days a deal is announced.
4) Cronin declines UNLV's offer to put his name into consideration at Pittsburgh and we see him interviewing in Pittsburgh next week. (This is where I'd put my money...)

Show him the arena renovation plans and offer him more money. We could get him. Sure he had a little issue with cheating, but really, does it matter any more? Didn't seem to bother a host of other schools.

Take Pastner. He's available. Please! 03-lmfao

If you take Pastner don't you have to take his agent and his AD because aren't all three connected at the hip?

You got sucked into the hype, huh? Bowen dropped his agent after the U of M hired him. Non-story. USC offered Pastner $1M a year more than we did, plus a $1M loan. Now that Pastner is floundering, we wrote a bad contract, but USC contract would have been worse for them. Nothing illegal or unethical about it. End of story.

JUST IN: Cronin says he is headed back to Cincinnati today, says nothing happening today. Sources say no deal with UNLV. Story to come.

Uh, UNLV sources say that Cronin is still in Las Vegas and that "talks are on-going."

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

FOX19 NOW has learned University of Cincinnati head basketball coach Mick Cronin is still in Las Vegas meeting with UNLV Athletic Director Tina Kunzer-Murphy and the Rebels are putting the “full court press” on Cronin, according to Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

UC Athletic Director Mike Bohn tells FOX19 NOW he is in Cincinnati right now and waiting on Mick Cronin to return, whenever that happens.

A source close to the situation tells FOX19 NOW President Santa Ono and Bohn have made several promises to Cronin that have been delayed or undelivered including: a new locker room, a renovated arena and two recruiting charter jets.

Those undelivered promises and the lack of funding to back those promises, according to the source, are a big reason why Cronin hasn’t been given the full potential to compete at the highest level and is still considering leaving.

They should call Mick's bluff. He is an employee of theirs... he shouldn't get to make the rules. I understand that they made him a promise, but this is a state school with a finite athletics budget. As long as Ono and Bohn are actively working to fulfill the promise, Mick shouldn't get to demand when they deliver on it.

Let him go.

Probably forgot to swap the toilet paper out over Labor Day too.

Both Tuberville and Cronin are exactly what the AAC needs at the Cincinnati branch.

Why's that? So UC can prove that we can compete in the AAAAAAAC even with one hand tied behind our back?

Neither one has had trouble with Houston.
