Yay for logical thought progression!

I don't know if this is in response to my post, but I think that the reason I'm not freaking out about this extension is because I trust Ono/Bohn to not sign a coach to a long term extension with a big buyout after a year like last year.

I figure they did exactly what you described. They added years and no big buyout. Still think this is a make or break year for CTT.

Contract extensions for coaches is more show than anything else. Needed to recruit and maintain stability even if you want to fire the coach at the end of the year.

I agree but the problem is if you're going to do that it should have been done prior to signing day and trying to sign coaches. Serves much less purpose now.

Wrong, they are actively recruiting NOW

Coaches or players? Because the 2016 class is in the books and the coaching staff is set according to these reports.

From a very limited supply and most programs have moved entirely on to the 2017 season.

It's always ideal to get all coaching vacancies, extensions, etc. set well before signing day.

Players.... if you follow recruiting now is a busy time for 2017, 2018...

EDIT: As an example UC offered a Toledo Catholic prospect today

Agreed. But having an extension in place earlier may have helped with the 2016 class and in landing assistant coaches. I just don't see the rationale for waiting until April if they were going to do it (not that I believe Tubs deserves an extension but I understand why they did it).
