There are two ways to move between schools as a graduate: The grad transfer exemption, and the grad transfer waiver.
Athletes in sports other than football, basketball & hockey can transfer once, and only once between schools and play right away. That is known as the one-time transfer exemption. For those other 3 sports, the player can only transfer and play right away if they have already graduated. The trick again, is that a player can only use either exemption once. There is no requirement on the type of graduate program the player enrolls in in that case.
However, if a player has already transferred once, then they are no longer eligible for the graduate transfer exemption, so if they want to move to another school and play right away, they need a waiver. In this case there needs to be some additional circumstances to allow approval to play right away, and one of them is the player has to enroll in a program the previous school didn't offer.
I don't think Tava transferred before, so there should be no restriction on what program he enrolls in, if I am reading the rules correctly.
