Wow! Ross, Fint and Brady all axed in one year. Gonna be a different looking league next year.

So what's the best job out of the 3? Actually asking because I have no idea.

It's not Drexel. Terrible job on every level. School's a dump, location's a dump, DAC's a dump, admin support is nil, and fan support isn't sleeping it just doesn't exist.

I think in the past I would've said UD just based on history, facilities and location (not saying Newark > 'burg but for hoops it's certainly more central to major recruiting centers and fam/friend's ability to make weeknight snoozefests), but Delaware's nearly complete abandonment of Athletics as a whole just makes it such a question mark as to what a coach would be walking into.

I think the COA/Alger thing is a HUGE hurdle and question mark for any coach considering JMU, but for all of our usual snark, I think we'd all concede outside of that issue, no coach at JMU can really complain about overall support and resources with a straight face, at least not relative to these two schools. One thing that's arguably a positive for JMU right now in terms of hunting for a basketball coach this year instead of any other time in the last five years or so is that a conference move is completely off the table and the CAA is a league I'd think most hoops people respect (even the current knockoff version).

Guy was a total jerk. Good riddance.

I felt at least a little sympathy for Bruiser and Brady. But not for Ross.

That is quite the perspective. Would love for you to elaborate on your points.

School is a dump? Interesting. How so?

Location is a dump? Also interesting. I guess it is if you are used to living in the middle of nowhere versus a city

DAC's a dump? Nobody will disagree here, despite the recent improvements the past few years, it is still subpar.

Admin support is nil? Depends how you see it, some would say it is the safest job in america with very little pressure on you which means all of the support in the world to run the program how you see fit

Fan support is non existent? Right now yes because of the utter failures since 2012. Look at Drexel before this collapse when the student section was considered one of the best nationally. Everyone in this conference feared playing at the DAC. Sure its crickets right now, but thats expected with the product on the floor.

Just one of those games. This was an exception to the rule in the Brooks era.

Who makes the best hire, us ud or Drexel?

UD fans are hoping for another Mike Brey like hire. Former Duke assistant. Looks like he worked out well for them (5 seasons, 2 NCAAs, 1 NIT) before leaving to go coach Notre Dame.

Brey's replacement was a dukie as well and that didn't work out so well.

Taking that bet is like asking who wants to stab their eyes out the most...all have inept AD's very capable of screwing everything up. I would say it is between DU and JMU. I like the fact we fired a national search group but still have no faith that we hire the right person of the various interviews given. So my vote is JMU but its a toss up. I think UD does the worst of the group

UD doesn't even have an AD to hire a coach yet. They have to hire one before they hire a coach, so they'll probably make the worst hire since they'll have slim pickings at that point.

I'm just bumping this to point out that nearly two months later this job is still open. It is the only D1 coaching job that is yet to be filled.

They have to hire an AD first, and who knows where they are in that process. They technically don't have a president either right now, since their newly hired one doesn't start until either June or July. Meanwhile, they're now down to 5 scholarship players remaining after another one elected to transfer yesterday.

I think they now have 7-8 spots to fill for next year. Roster will likely be some Jucos and walk ons.
