lol....

I do think St John's fans think they really are 12-13 and don't need much. The non d1 game is a killer right now. If they were 12-13, going 4-2 would pretty much make it where win rd 1 of BET and they're in the NIT at 17-16.

Like I said, I think it's better for the Big East if they don't make the NIT- as what it would take to make the NIT would really hurt Marquette and then at least 1 of Providence, Seton Hall, or Butler.

We don't need help hurting our tournament cause. Our blowout to Butler and loss to Providence did enough of that.

1 thing I think is funny- seeing ESPN's bubble watch- talking about Marquette how this week presents itself with a surprising chance at a quality win vs St John's....

What I think is weird about that- if Marquette beats St John's on the road- St John's RPI would fall quite a bit- making it not a quality win(tier 1 at least). It's tough with teams like that- they're right on the bubble between tier 1 and tier 2.

It's easy to get lost in all of the RPI and SOS stats with potential outcomes. Bottom line, for teams like Marquette and others on or near the bubble, just win the next game. If you just focus on winning the next game, everything will take care of itself in the end.

RE: stevers thoughts
yeah though I would say with the SOS- that's pretty much known right now. It's why Marquette has still such a great shot. But 1 more unexpected loss will really hurt them a lot. Marquette and Temple right now are kind of the same....

but it's so funny with those 2...
Marquette is 14-10 with #9 SOS.
Temple is 14-10 with #7 SOS.

So you would think really close RPI wise.

Temple #38 RPI
Marquette #57 RPI record

The RPI records are pretty close IMO.

Marquette REALLY hurt by the new formula(it's been around a while but still). Marqeutte old formula 43, Temple 39.

The dance card site that we've used before has Marquette as the 1st team out right now. Temple being very comfortably in right now- #34. Amazing how different given the same records.
