They honestly should have had Notre Dame playing. It makes too much sense and TV does stuff like that.

I think he needs a time out. Wait, they don't have any more left.

There's no bigger UNC-Wilmington fan today than Michael Jordan. Bonus points if you can figure out why I say that.

Butler struggling with Texas Tech. It's amazing recently how the 8's have done vs the 9's. Last 5 years 8's are 15-5 vs the 9's.

This isn't the first time (at least recently) where Duke has struggled with a fiery mid-major in the first round.

I will listen to the analysis of any member of this board before that of Charles Barkley. What, because he played basketball at a high level we're supposed to take what he says seriously?

It's a pick 'em game though, so its merely a statistical anamoly. I'd be more shocked if more double digit seeds were advancing than single digit seeds.

actually...
1 20-0
2 17-3
3 16-4/1-0 vs pig
4 17-3/0-1 vs pig
5 11-9/2-1 vs pig
6 10-10/2-3 vs pig
7 14-6
8 15-5

so 9's are 5-15
10's 6-14
11's 10-10
12's 9-11

9 seeds only won 1 more game than the 14 seeds in the last 5 years....

of course right on cue, Butler with 13-2 run to take the lead...

what is funny is the record the 5 years before....
1 20-0
2 20-0
3 18-2
4 15-5
5 12-8
6 12-8
7 11-9
8 10-10

which is the records you would expect.

SMH

It's trending a certain way but by definition the 8/9 game is a pick 'em game, period. If at-large bids ended with the 8 seeds and the auto-bids picked up immeadiately with the 9-seeds, there may be something to read into that trend but especially given that the committee has a natural seeding error curve of +/- 1 or 2, the teams that meet in the 8/9 game are evenly matched.

Stop overanalyzing, LOL.

even if you take the 10 years 25-15 it's something you wouldn't believe.

Also the chart shows how the 6's have struggled when they've played FF teams. 2-3 vs them while 8-7 vs "regular" 11 seeds.
