Tigers thread on Grizzlies message board
Interesting - they talk Pearl, B12, Pastner, Lawson's draft potential, etc.

Wow, some of them dudes don't know much about the program. These must not be the ones that flocked to the Grizz, bringing Tiger attendance down.

There doesn't seem to be much crossover interest on the two boards. I think overall Grizz fans have less interest in the Tigers than vice versa.

When I talk to various people in my travels, those who are big NBA fans see the college game as an inferior product and don't pay it too much attention.

I'm a big NBA fan and the college product is definitely inferior. If I didn't have a college team to root for in the Tigers, I wouldn't follow college BB either.

and most college hoops purists I know feel the same about the NBA...

"do they not call traveling?" "is this a basketball game, or a dunk contest?"

I like em both.

Same here. Find myself watching less college hoops every year.

Whatever the reason - best players leaving after one year, the AAU-style, 700 transfers each year - many teams are almost unwatchable.

Like with the Tigers, if you count how many shots outside of 10 feet they make during the course of a game, it's pretty shocking how poor the shooting is. We often go 10 minutes only scoring through free throws, putbacks or layups.

RE: Tigers thread on Grizzlies message board
You'll find a handful of guys over at the GRIZZ messageboards that are Tigers fans as well, but not that many. Most could care less. As others have mentioned, college ball is inferior (which it is, from the talent perspective). Pro ball is weird; some fans follow a team because its their city and or grew up watching or they follow a player/coach (mainly player) and are die-hard "team" fans since their player plays for a particular team ... case-in-point; I'm sure if you travel to Spain, you will find a ton of "GRIZZLIES supporters" ...

Jay Bilas has been lobbying the NCAA for some time to adopt the NBA's rules for basketball. He's idea is that it would make the game alot more free flowing and exciting.

Yes college basketball is the inferior product but I cheer for anything Memphis. I would like college football better than the pro's if the system was fair.

My interest in college basketball has declined significantly over the last four years.

I'm feeling kinda stranded after the Tigers BB season.

So here's the deal. I'd like to 'find mybasketball self' with the Grizz--been to some games this year. Even got catapulted a Memph15 shirt from the mascot.

But the overall excitement seems to fall below where Tigers bb used to be and what I want to see happening again.

I've always found the Grizz games more engaging at the Forum. A much younger and boisterous crowd might be the reason.

At Tiger games, I'm almost always told to sit my @$$ down :(

lol. They don't tell me to sit down, but if they did, I'd prolly say something
'unfortunate'. I stand up and sit down for almost every little thing at the Tigers' games.

Grizz games have the shooting fire thing, but they don't have a band. I love our band.

I've felt that way since Jordan retired.
