RE: Rice vs. TCU Baseball
USC hit TCU very hard over the weekend.

I know we got flat-out embarrassed at Minute Maid, but I think we ought to be able to get to TCU's pitchers tonight. I'm not sold on them like I was before.

If we get crushed again, it will be a very bad sign.

RE: Rice vs. TCU Baseball
But GT shows three Frog 4-3s in T1.

In B1:

Warren, 6-3
Chandler, HBP
Wunderlich, F-9
DiCaprio, 4-3

0-0, after 1.

Unless the audio comes back, there's little to post. Anyone can check the GameTracker, which is no fun following continuously, since no balls & strikes are given to allow viewers any semblance of a sense of the game.

Go Owls!!

T2 (from GameTracker):

Baker grounded out to 3B.
Watson singled through the right side.
Barzilli reached on a fielder's choice; Watson out at second SS to 2B.
Merrill doubled down the RF line; Barzilli advanced to third, out at home RF to 1B to C.

Yay! Nailed at the plate! WTG, Owls!! Sounds like it would have been exciting to hear.

Scoreless, heading to B2.

Rice scores on B2 on a bunt base hit. Would love to learn more about it from an eye-witness.

From GT:

Lewis flied out to CF.
Proctor singled to left field.
Proctor advanced to second on a balk.
Dunlap grounded out to 2B; Proctor advanced to third.
Myers singled, bunt, RBI; Proctor scored.
Myers out at second P to 1B to SS, caught stealing.

1-0, Rice ... after 2.

Single scores a run, but runner from 2nd picked off at third after breaking for home and not getting back in time.

Esquivel pulled in favor of Kravitz.

Myers second time picked off in last two games. Unacceptable, especially since we can't steal bases any way. We can ill afford to keep running ourselves out of innings.

Batter helps with a pop foul out on a 2-0 pitch. 2 out.

Fly to left. TCU gets only one run after loading the bases with no outs.

Why did we pull Esquivel so quickly? We're going to run out of pitchers at this rate....and we can ill-afford to have Otto throw more than 3 innings, or he won't be available to CUSA series opener this weekend.

Teykl 4-3. Warren's drag bunt is way too hard, 1-3 out. Chandler fly to center.

After 3
1-4-0
1-2-0

Esquivel couldn't hit the zone, then after a mound visit he started throwing high fastballs leading to the RBI. Just didn't have it tonight.
