I'd also rather have Teykl stay at 1B, put Jefferies at 2B, and move Lewis to 3B, where he played last year. Blake has proven to be a liability at 1B, IMO.

You called it.

It's pretty predictable. Despite Blake playing 1B all through high school, he has never looked comfortable there, and has shown no natural instincts. The number of errors he has made in his limitted play there is off-the-charts.

He also is slow and can't hit. So I don't get why we play him in the field at all. We have enough zeros in our lineup. We need him to focus on pitching.

Same with bunting. These are fundamentals that other teams have a big advantage on over us.

You'd think with an Augie disciple on the staff, we'd be able to handle this. At this point I won't if it's not bad coaching, but intentionally misleading coaching due to loyalty to the wine-soaked one.

In a desperate search for a silver lining, we got to play 9 innings this time.

Was a winnable game. Had the predictable Rice stew of bad baserunning, bad defense, and pitching meltdowns (although the ump played a large role in that).

The umps really hurt us in this one, perhaps to a degree that I haven't seen in a good while. But credit has to go to the Frogs for staying with it when they were down.

Our mojo is well and truly gone.

I agree. In order for the program to turn around, Graham needs to retire. He built the program, but it's not 1999 anymore. The team has talent but the decsion making is suspect.
