Both are great, but even though TXST has like 20k less students than A&M, TXST girls>Aggie girls. Even Aggies can't debate that.

College Station and Lafayette are pitted against one another in the bracket. I've been to College Station a few times and I can say that Lafayette > College Station.
My one traffic light hometown (they have more now) is better than College Station

I'd be curious as to why you feel that way. My hometown still only has one blinking light, and while I love it, it doesn't compare.
Personal preference on what I like about towns and small cities.

Fair enough

the town of college station is pretty blah but around the a-m campus and its sea of rv's and tailgaters is pretty neat on game days. I have been to oxford and it is pretty cool on game days.

Now if you'd said that about Bryan, I might agree. As college towns go, College Station's pretty nice, and it's certainly got to be better than a "one traffic light town" in New freakin' Jersey . . . .

Only time College Station isn't a dirt hole is when it rains and becomes a mud hole.
But under my definition of college town, it has to be up there because it is so TAMU focused as a community.

Keep it up App Nation and SB brothers! Boone is closing in on Charlottesville. Only down 3%. You can vote once a day until 3/20.

I know that it's not on the list and not part of the conversation...and I know that I'm very biased...but I cannot think of a better college town than San Marcos.

The college bar scene is San Marcos is by far the best that I have experienced, and I've been to quite a few pretty good ones (Lubbock, Stillwater, Lafayette, College Station, Waco, Tallahassee, Huntsville, Springfield, Tuscaloosa).

And for me, nothing beat having these places in my backyard:

San Marcos River (San Marcos)

Blanco River (San Marcos)

Comal River (New Braunfels)

I love Savannah, I think it's one of the greatest historical cities in the country but it's not a college town...even with SCAD, Savannah State and Armstrong there.

I voted for my SB brethren.

Looks like the Cajuns have a bad draw though.

Gonna be hard to beat a national champion runner up. Their fanbase is riding an all time high right now. No matter how much better the boro is than Clemsuck.

all that stuff is cool and also river road, and I've there many times, but not much of that stuff going on in late fall and early winter..cant argue about the high % of potential ex wives there tho.

River is the same temp year round. You can swim all you want in the winter, if you can handle getting out of the river and into the cold air.

lol, I don't know if one is better than the other but the two towns are strikingly similar. Campuses too.

A few years back (maybe 2011?) it was so hot during our opening tournament in February that I brought a suit along and took a plunge between games.

First, I said it's personal preference. Second, I've been to both so have the right to make that judgement.

It is a nice small town, that has farms, parks, lakes, ponds, the Pine Barrens (you'd have to look that up) and sits 25 minutes from Philadelphia and 45 minutes to the coast. It wasn't some polluted suburb of New York City. Never been a real nightlife person so my "ideal" is different. I love to swim. I like to hike, canoe, backpack and camp (oddly enough the stuff my daughter did when she was at TXST). So, yeah, I'd take my hometown over College Station.

I lived in Bryan and worked in College Station for 2 years.

It wouldn't bother me if I never step foot in either town ever again.

Any place where the girls bark and wear stiletto boots to tailgate and the guys don't finish their beers is a place we should all try to stay away from.

I agree. I don't think either town could keep up with UGA fans' insistence on defacing and polluting their town at every opportunity. Great tailgating =/= making the biggest trash heap possible and being proud of it.

Not as much as Baton Rouge. No other place in the known universe pulls as much vacuum as the Red Stick.
