Exclamation What's the skinny on Louisiana college fooball programs?
What's the word in Louisiana and the state of the athletic programs/state budget deficit? Haven't heard anything concrete since the initial dire warning from new Governor. I realize LSU football will probably not be canceled, but I haven't heard anymore about the issue. Any specifics? How is Louisiana Tech effected by this? How about Louisiana Monroe and Louisiana (Lafayette)? Cheers!

They will shut down every school in the state before LSU loses football.

Pretty sure sports like baseball will see more the effect than football. A 24 act and 3.0 gets free tuition. Bernie woulda loved this.

I guess I can count my lucky stars that Tulane went private a long damn time ago. We had our own deficit 12 months ago (15m approx.), but with new leadership we're shaving some of the corruption to hopefully make our numbers work.

Heck, our deficit is child's play compared to the state's.

So tops money can only be used at the state schools? No equivalent payment if they choose tulane?

Until now, it only took an 18 on the ACT and a 2.5 GPA. They raised the requirements this session.
