For what reason? There are no scholarships left and from what I remember there wasn't much to rape or pillage.

Their leading scorer is/was a freshman who averaged 10 a game. Kid can play.

RE: Is Chicago State bankrupt yet?
I watched CSU basketball team lose pretty badly to the University of Minnesota in person back in December. The game was pretty good in the first half but even the Goofers pulled away in the second half. And the Goofers are hilariously bad....
No one stood out on CSU and to say their team fell apart in the second half isn't fair to the phrase "fell apart." But there is more than wins and loses in athletics, right? I want to say there was an interview on the radio with the CSU coach who out and out said something along the lines of "if it was not for CSU basketball, some of these boys would be in gangs on the Southside, or dead." Imagine that, seriously. In gangs or dead, if not for Cougar basketball.
Knowing all that, of course I was rooting for CSU. Who doesn't cheer for the underdog, for the strong ethics, values and discipline that basketball brings to a tough side of town, and of course my Illinois roots betrayed me..... try as I might, I cannot be a Goofer fan.
So as a sports fan and a huge proponent of the college athletics experience to prepare student athletes for the next stage of their life, I strongly support the CSU as they work to find ways to continue the athletics experience at Chicago State.

Can anyone even qualify for NIU? Did they get higher than a 13 on their act?
