Kevin, Kevin, Kevin..........just play them........that will make the argument a reality..........and then no one will have to speculate.......

You will have room in your schedule.............Shreck has already decided to stop the series with us after we shove the Colonels stick up his arse again for the third time in a row.......you cn play them in your opener............

(Watch this, guys, the Missississippippi guys wil come out with their "since 1934, we have dominated you............." argument................neglecting the fact that we are 4-4 in the past eight games with the high and mighty 2003 SEC Co-Western Division, Southern Quadrant, Ladies Division Champions...........oh, yeah, we beat them that year too..............Eli and all............)

Kevin, just having some fun with you................You are good guy............

Well you cant get on USM education KEV because i have no college education. So yeah I might not be the smartest guy on this message board I am however a damn proud fan of the Unversity Of Southern Mississippi and I do know for a fact that Southern Mississippi consistently kicked Ole Miss a$$ in the later half of the 70's and early to mid 80's before Ole Miss decided to end the series. I also know for a fact that Southern Miss consistently Kicked MSU a$$ throughout the 80's before they finally ended the series on a 2 game winning streak and said " well we got lucky to do that so lets schedule Louisanna Monroe now"

2 things there turbo........

1. We can't help conference games. We can help OOC games. We play Alabama, NC State, and McNeese St.....Northern Miss plays Wyoming, Memphis, and The Citadel. I won't even call that pitful. I will call it cowardly. Following in the tradition of all the little fairy boys at Ole Miss, the AD treats the football team the same way. Next thing you know, they will replace the Ole Miss Football uni's with cheerleading skirts.

2. Southern Miss might actually beat some of their OOC opponents. Ole Miss lost to both Memphis and Wyoming last year.

Face it, you can say whatever you want about the conference and attendance....THAT IS ALL YOU HAVE. Southern Miss wins, Ole Miss doesn't.

5 out of the last 7 in football and baseball........prove it on the field. Until then, shut up.

We schedule Wyoming, etc. to fill our schedule. We don't have to schedule USC, Miami, etc. to fill our OOC games since we are in the strongest conference in the nation and CONSTANTLY play top 25 teams. That analogy has been shot full of holes so many times it's pathetic.

As far as "Southern Wins, Ole Miss doesn't", kinda easy to say when the majority of your schedule is filled with substandard teams. Face it, without Memphis and USM, the C-USA doesn't hold water to other football conferences. Our first losing season in a decade was last year. That many years of success in the SEC isn't a "failure", except in your eyes and the rest of the jealous non-bcs teams.

I also love how you "crop" away at stats to fit your agenda. by any chance, are you a Democrat?

So you call being in one conference for 40+ years and no conference title in a LONG time successful? Glad USM coaches, players, and fans don't set our expectations as low as you do.

Yeah, you brag about playing teams in the Top 25 every year, but you hardly ever beat them. The idea of being in the same conference as those is to beat those teams, not to say, "Hey, they are in the Top 25, at least we play them." It's pretty sad that you get the same money, and advantages as EVERY other SEC school, yet you can't beat them. It's sad when USM will play those teams closer than a team in their own conference will. But then again, by your standards, it's "not a failure" if you just play the team, no matter what happens.

40+ years an no conference title? We shared the national title in 1960. As far as not beating any of those top 25 teams, do I really need to bring those facts up? I am sure you are kidding.

Apparently Ole Miss doesn't teach you how to read, because in my post I said "40+ years and no conference title in a LONG time"

What Top 25 teams has Ole Miss beat in the last 3 years?

Dang sounds like the wvu pouties just went and cloned themselves. TWICE! There is good reason why UM and MSU will not play USM - too much to lose. They have to fill their schedule with dog meat (boy were they surprised at Memphis  ) so they can get their six wins to box some worthy non-autobid team out of a bowl.

Tee it up fellas. The day either of you grow some and schedule USM, I will make it a point to attend that game and watch them kick your @$$. I'll be the one wearing all the Marshall garb yelling GO GOLDEN EAGLES!

TEE IT UP or shut up.

I'm sorry but I only read the first few post of this thread and this is rich. Dog fans talking football smack. How absolutely pathetic that these Starkpatch, USA morons find the need to come over here and actually talk football smack. Our loss to your dogs was an embarrasment and your little weanie coach found out that backing up his smack was something he was unwilling to do (he must have had the same bull procedure done on himself or maybe it comes with the Starkpatch, USA territory -). What dolts!

I'll give Southern this much, they'll go out and play whoever to get their name out and gain national recognition for their program. That's what has helped build their program and give them the ability to "dominate" C-USA. UT's played USM several times (4-0 all-time) and the last time (2000) Southern gave us all we wanted and then some...19-16 UT win. I'll always have respect for that program and Jeff Bower b/c they don't back down to the challenge. Whether they win or get their asses kicked, they'll still take on any competition. I say that the state should force or strongly suggest a rotating series b/t Southern and MSU and Ole Miss to help please the masses and maybe generate extra state revenues...hold the games in Jackson or something even. Either way, I'd like to see Ole Miss and MSU give USM what they want. If Ole Miss and MSU whip their asses, that's fine...at least Southern got their shot. Good Luck in '05 to all.

Thanks, Tom!

I really thought we were going to pull out that win against y'all. When it went to half time with a score of 7-3, I felt really good about our chances.... the 12 point 3rd didn't help though! We fought back in the 4th, but fell just short. It was a great game.

Of course, two weeks later we beat Bama 21-0! That was a great feeling!

That was a real game. We had yall at halftime but you had a little feller named "Peyton" that took over the second half and really threaded some needles through our secondary. I knew he was gonna be good after that game.

PS: We don't want or need to play the two lesser Mississippi schools. We know we would have dominated them for the past 15 years. We seek better competition (like Maine or Wyoming). 03-wink

You want pathetic....

Using your conference as a cane to prop up your terrible a$$ football team is pathetic.

Going halfway across the nation to play in Wyoming and get beat is pathetic.

Firing a coach one year removed from a 10 win season is pathetic.

Hiring a replacement that is "experienced" only in drunken altercations and head butting women is pathetic.

Being a doormat for that mighty conference of yours is pathetic.

Thinking that your football team is actually competitive is pathetic.

Only being able to throw conference affiliation and attendance at a football team that is better than yours to try and justify your own existence is pathetic.

To still think you are superior is pathetic.

Ole Miss fans are pathetic.

There are more, but you get the point.

"That many years of success in the SEC isn't a "failure", except in your eyes and the rest of the jealous non-bcs teams" might be the funniest thing I have ever read in my life.

Your winning seasons include wins over The Citadel, Arkansas State, Sally's Beauty School, Kentucky, Vandy, and a terrible MSU team. If you don't think that Southern Miss could do that you are delusional. Yeah every once in awhile you will sneak up a beat Florida or someone but even Prarie View wins games. You have no success in the SEC except for other teams successfully wiping their feet on you....and don't give me any of this Co-Recreational Department/Western Division/ South League/ Runner up to the champion crap. You finished 2nd in your HALF of the conference and that defined your team.....want to really talk about pathetic.

No, actually I am not a Democrat. Guess you make a habit out of being wrong. Sorry I didn't go back to 1960 to get stats. I was talking about most recently b/c i honestly don't care what happened in the 60's, I wasn't alive.

Now, go ahead and give me a spill about "Oh yeah, well we have more fans than you" or "We are in the SEC, it is powerful even though we aren't" or whatever else you want to deny your own medioctrity with.

SMTTT!!
