Hopefully the flood waters are down some and they can get into LA via I10, otherwise they have a very long road trip ahead.
Might be easier via the Intracoastal Waterway. We'll pick them up at the dock in Forked Island.
Now that's some outside the box thinking. From what I hear, I-10 won't be clear in time for their travel to the game, whether it's today or early tomorrow. I'm hoping they listen to the LA DOTD and TX DOTD warnings and go all the way up I-20 to get here. And no flying, that's too expensive.
Strangely enough, I have heard that the Coastal Highway is open. They can take I-10 to Winnie, then TX 73 to Port Arthur, thence cross the Sabine at Sabine Pass and take LA 82 from Sabine Pass to Abbeville and up 167 to Lafayette. That's much shorter than going to I-20.

It is open, for now. Hence the reason I said that I hope they heed the DOTD warnings and go all the way up to I-20 and not cross into the state at Hwy 82. I want them to have an unnecessarily long trip; advantage us tomorrow. Also, the quicker route from there to Lafayette is to actually get off at 82 at Holly Beach and take Hwy 27 to I-10 at Sulphur. If you stay on 82 after Holly Beach you have to take the Cameron Ferry which can slow you down. Not to mention the speed limit is around 10-15 mph slower on 82 compared to I-10. And there will be hardly any vehicle traffic on I-10 West once you get on in Sulphur.

I had forgotten about the ferry. You are right. Turn on 27 at Holly Beach and hit 10 at Sulphur.

Weather was fine in Lafayette.
The baseball team was playing in Natchitoches, so a lot of fans made that trip, and the softball team was at home for a 6:00 PM game, which was, as always, sold out.
Also, many of our fans are disgusted with Marlin, and many others don't have any interest in the pay to play tournaments.
I wish more would have come to the game to support the kids, but it is what it is.

I think the softball attendance was just under 2000.

well I just remember someone on this forum saying that buying these home games works out ok for you guys because you always have 4000 or so ticket buyers and would make out ok.

I think if softball was out of town and baseball was further away than Natchitoches, we would have had a fairly solid crowd. Not 4000, but solid.
