Vandy? No business in the Tourney? Really?

Vandy has wins against: Wake Forest, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas A&M, Alabama, Missouri, 2 wins against Florida, 2 against Tennessee, and 2 against Auburn. . . .

. . and YOU think they don't belong . . . . . 03-lmfao

. . . and the rest? I'm no Vandy fan, but give credit where credit is due. And this is still a club that beat a number of Quality opponents and won 19 games . .. .

To be soooo dismissive as to say they have no business in this Tourney is a Joke . . .

St Mary's was inflated yes they beat gonzaga but they didnt leave the state of Cali I believe. They beat up on some bad teams. There record is impressive but you gotta play somebody. Monmouth had some bad losses but they scheduled up and won a few. To me they were the biggest snub.

RE: NCAA Selection Show thread
I wonder how many of the P5 bubble teams that made the tournament played a mid-major on the road this year? In the last two years? In the last five years?

They need to do like softball did. Remove any bonuses by playing top 50 teams in your conference as you didn't have any part in scheduling. Count OOC home wins as MUCH less value than road wins.

I'm no NCAA basketball genius but ever sports show/media outlet I saw yesterday said Vandy shouldn't have gotten in.

WF, Auburn, thUGA, Florida, Mizzou, and Tenn are all garbage. A. 19-13 team in a bad conference like the SEC has no business in the tourney.

Monmouth scheduled according to the committee's recommendations for teams from one bid conferences. In the end, that advice was worthless. What's the incentive to schedule as they did if it gets you nothing in return. Yes, they were in the conversation but that's little consolation.

Agreed! There's a flip side to the argument that when you play a P5 in-conference schedule, you're bound to lose some of those, no matter who you are. When you play a mid-major in-conference schedule, you're also bound to lose some of those, no matter who you are. Taking those as "bad losses" that worked so strongly against Monmouth seems like a convenient excuse.

Vandy has two seven footers. Didn't help em much.

Little Rock can win that game if the guards shoot it.
