Since Haase has had so much fun knocking off Bartow records this year, an NIT championship sounds good. Then he could take us to the Final Four next year.

Anyone opposed to that?

The NC St. game was the sweetest for me. It was at The Bart, and UAB just dominated the game from start to finish. UAB led 26-7 after the first 12 minutes, and was ahead 37-17 at halftime. The final score was 72-52. A 20-point win over an ACC school was huge!

Three days later, against UNC, the sweetness was gone. Howard Crawford missed several dunks - dunks! - that were really costly. The game was tied at halftime, and again inside of five minutes to go. UAB lost 60-55.

One would argue that a two point win over big brother in 1993 was the sweetest NIT win of all time.

I remember the excitement that North Carolina was going to be playing in Bartow Arena, and a Hall of Fame coach like Roy Williams would be coaching in Bartow.

Who knew in a couple of years that Roy would play a regular season in Bartow and even come to a game as a spectator.

Oh, I agree with you regarding the win to our immediate west, but I wasn't living in the Birmingham area at that time. I started following UAB Basketball in 1995.
