RE: CIT
Tough loss for the Cardinals tonight, but the future is very bright. The leading scorer in tonight's 69-67 loss was a freshman, big man Trey Moses. He is going to be a load for conference foes in the coming years.
Only one player with significant minutes, senior Bo Calhoun, will not return next year. Among others coming in will be sophomore transfer point guard Taylor Persons, freshman of the year in the Atlantic Sun Conference last year, and one of the highest ranked recruits (4-star) Ball State has ever had, redshirt freshman and Indiana All Star Tahjai Teague. Both will have a huge impact on the team next season. Cardinal fans are in for a treat. With 21 wins this year and all the promise for next year, Ball State basketball is finally back.

Haven't made it back to Cleveland yet, though. lol Seriously, congratulations to James and Grunk, they have patiently built the program from the ground up, no shortcuts with juco's, etc. They are solid guys, good coaches.

As Coach Whitford always tells us, he is building a program, not a team. He is looking to build a sustained success, not a one-year wonder. Love his emphasis on recruiting excellent high school players rather than taking unnecessary chances on the often risky jucos, not that he won't and doesn't take one when necessary. But the core will always be the good high school players.
Oh, and Cleveland is definitely on the horizon for the Cardinals next year. Time to get back there and increase their lead (7) in MAC tournament championships. It's been much too long (2000).
