RE: WBB Semis--Who will win?
Marshall clearly ran out of gas against a superior team, especially physically. Bad combination that gets to beat badly. Well done, MTSU, and best wishes to both MTSU and ODU tomorrow!

Still very happy with Marshall's increase in level of play over the course of the season. Hope Victrum is ok for any postseason. Already have 3 PG who are out for season (since before the season-opener). We're still a bit away from reaching WKU/MTSU in level of play, but our program is improving step by step.

Hope we can keep Coach Daniel at least a few more years. The core of this group is very, very young...and there is some good talent in the region right now that can stock the program for several years if he stays and can get them.

I'm impressed with the Marshall improvement. At first, the temptation may be to attribute it to cupcake OOC scheduling. But it is basically the same teams from two years ago when you were 8-20. Then you went 4-6 in OOC play. Last year you went 6-3. This year it was 9-1 with the only loss against WV. So I don't begrudge the weak OOC schedule as the program was learning how to win.

But now you've shown how to win. I think Marshall could drop a couple of the 300+ RPI teams and add a combination of mid-majors and weak P5 schools like Ohio, Duquesne, Pitt or Virginia Tech. Move the RPI from 125 and push to get it into the top-100. That would be an incredible improvement from the 262 RPI from just two seasons ago.

Yes, I agree. Either way Marshall is tremendously improved and it shows. You don't beat WKU in the tournament by chance.
