The way the ODU / LT game looks on TV right now I'd say so.

Happened at UTEP, too. Attendance dies when the host gets booted.

Of course it does. That isn't a knock on UAB or any home fan base. To be honest, if the tournament was in BG and WKU lost I wouldn't watch all the games especially if I didn't have the conference tournament ticket book.

Losing in the first game is probably the worst case scenario for any host. The start time was ridiculous. At noon is a horrible time for the home team to play at. UAB should have played the 6pm slot. Early fans get to watch the ending of the 4/5 game and get to influence who they want to face off against. After the game a lot would stay and watch the 3/6 battle.

I don't wish this on any future host school. I would have liked for UAB or whoever the host is to make a run to the championship game. We have been on both sides of the coin.

In 2010 we made the championship game and it was a nice atmosphere for the other games. In 2014 we got eliminated in the quarterfinals and our attendance dropped. It's best for the conference when we are able to showcase that we can have 10k plus at our championship game.

Yep, UAB fans were already upset that they had to work so hard to get to the first game. Noon on Thursday? It's like CUSA didn't even care about tournament attendance.

Because you're the host. Its your responsibility to make a good showing for the conference. If you don't like the responsibility don't bid to host. ODU has been the host of the womens NCAA tournament several times and a few times when we didnt make the tourney. The community still came out in good numbers and made a good showing. Not like it would have been had ODU been in it, but still good.

Doesn't the number 1 seed always play at noon? That way they get more rest than the seed they play the next day.

Yes, but last year they gave the host team the choice of game time to help with attendance. That was voted down this year.

I bought a book, but I will not be going back. I did give 3 tickets away to some la tech fan.

Its other schools fans responsibility to go out and support your own team. Not ours to support yours. We lost, no longer have a dog in the fight, don't care. If the conference tourney is anywhere else I would be there supporting my team.

I will say this is the poorest showing from every fan base including ours that I have ever seen in a CUSA tournament this far. Mostly blazer fans left.

No matter what time the games are being played, you must be ready to play. If your the best team, you should not need every advantage just to be able to win. I do agree the host team should be given the evening spot regardless of seeding IF it's not at the expense of another team or teams somehow.

Who cares, I don't blame them.

That being said, I totally agree with not giving them the choice of start time. Making it fair for everybody is more important than attendance.

Oh, I agree 100% that the time of the game has no bearing on whether or not we show up to play. In fact, WKU having played yesterday should have given UAB even more of an advantage in the early game. It just wasn't our day. Probably would have been the same thing had we played the prime time game.

I was just saying to those who asked if UAB fans would be showing up for the rest of the tournament that I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't because most were a little perturbed that they had to alter workday schedules for this one.

I'll probably take a look at the games on the stream, but I doubt I'll be going. I couldn't even go to this one because of class to begin with, though.

I'm a little salty, but it's not like I'm taking it out on the other programs. The tournament just conflicts with my schedule a lot so I probably would have missed some UAB games even if they advanced. I don't blame fans of a host team for bowing out when their team loses. I really wish the rest of you guys good luck.
