I don't look forward to playing WKU for a 3rd time if it is our destiny. I imagine they'll have figured out a thing or two from the previous meetings.

we both return a lot. Western returns all of our front court plus 4 that's sitting out this year. Two transfers from UT and a JUCO that averaged a double double that got hurt before the season. The one UT transfer was a starter for them and would have started for Western this year...easily. Western also has a 7'2 kid from across the pond that had a season ending injury early this year.

Western will lose COSBY AND THAT WILL HURT but a ton coming back.

Thanks to the UAB fan that saved me $75 today with the two freebies. If it was one of you I would love to buy you and a friend dinner.

So glad to have Western and UAB back in the same conference. Two great programs.

It's amazing how far Harper has brought these kids from the Belmont game which was the first time I saw the Tops this year. WKU will most certainly have one of the best if not the best front court in CUSA next year. JJ is such a stud. Love his game.

A ton of respect from these 2 programs. Some of the schools that just know us from the last couple years that we've been in the conference have no respect for what we've done before. It's been a slow rebuild from the Ken Pol Pot McDummy McDonald days.

But UAB fans know what a great rivalry exists between our 2 schools because of our shared pasts. Getting hooked back up with Middle was a good part of our move to CUSA but getting back together with UAB was every bit as big. To a lesser degree hooking back up with Charlotte and ODU also but the WKU-UAB series was always a fiery one back in the day. UAB under Gene Bartow was our 'name' school in the early sunbelt days. JD Barnett and VCU had some great teams but everyone in America knew who Gene and UAB were.

And you guys gave our conference a bit of legitimacy last year with your huge first round win. Hopefully whoever wins this thing can duplicate your success from last year.

I'm as proud of this group of Hilltoppers as I have been in a long time. A bunch of new guys and it took us quite awhile to learn how to finish games this year. And this while some of our ignorant fans were screaming for Ray's head and running him down recently because he didn't get anyone on the all conference team. We've had a very small core of loudmouths that know very little about the game of basketball demanding he be fired. Not acknowledging for a minute that we had so many new players to build into a team.

None of us liked all the close losses. Nobody likes that. But some of us thought we had the ability to be pretty good by the end of the year. Much like UAB was last year. Only I doubt you had as many ignorant fans screaming for Hasse's head.

Thank you for all the kind words.

Still remember the craziness around WKU-UAB games. I still remember the Ogg 7 footer and Jerome Mincy. Diddle arena was crazy with 13k screaming at Bartow and him getting pissed about the Mars bar....fun times!!

I completely agree... You all have more ignorant fans than any program I know. :)

Haha, this wonderful post was definitely more alcohol related than because of my technical shortcomings.
