Memphis, South Fla., and Tulane only 3 teams not to win AAC tournament game since inception. I've been saying all season Temple is at best the 4th best team in league, maybe 5th.
According to KenPom Stats we have a 35% chance of winning our first game and a 15% chance of winning two games in the AAC tourney....
Looks like Josh was right....Winning is Hard.... to bad it is no so hard for our opponents

Actually Memohis has 3 seniors who play heavy minutes and are core of team in Goodwin, Tarrant and Burrell(when not in doghouse). Shaq coupled with D. Lawson are a tough matchup inside for Tulsa. If they exploit that as in last game, Tigers should win.
If Tulsa has Swannigan in early foul trouble as Tigers game plan will be to go at him early and often, watch out; that is if they are hitting shots vs zone Tigers will surely see.

Rare time when I'm glad we're in AAC. Need softer conference to have shot at winning Conf Tourney. Big12 would chew CJP up and spit him out.

I agree. I just see us looking lost, playing with nerves, and going home real early. Burrell may be our most important player. I am not a Tarrant fan. He is reckless and if he isn't going to the line and hitting FT's, he is basically useless. I know thats harsh but the fact is he played for 3 teams in 4 years. Thats why Sam Craft was even an option at PG.

That is our weak link along with shooters but Pastner has used Tarrant wrong. Should have been designated primary ball handler from day one. Plays him off the ball way too much-especially when the plodding Dedric brings the ball up. Tarrant should be primary ball handler because he is an excellent penetrator even against zones. Not the greatest passer but adequate; would have a better 3 pt shooting % with better shot selection. Needs to be set and square for shot.
Also, he was getting foul calls allowed under new rules regarding hand checks, etc for first third of season but refs gradually backed off of that and it was a big adjustment for Tarrant that was not his fault.

Completely agree there too. Great points. But you know what happened to Tarrant and the calls...we started playing away from FedEx Forum. I knew that was going to happen. We went until January without playing a true road game.

You're exactly right but that still raises the point. Why does NCAA pull this stunt every year and then back off early in season? It affects a lot of players who were quick enough with the ball to force contact and get to line. It was written that this rule would be enforced all season. What a farce that turned out to be.
But, on Tigers game vs Tulsa, if one of their bigs has 2 fouls with 10 to go in first half and we are hitting enough perimeter shoots to stay close, we will probably win barring something very unusual happening.

I swear if I had to pick one team against the field, I would take the Tigers. I can completely see us getting hot and winning the damn thing. That would be AWESOME after this horrible season.

The problem has never been that you couldn't see it happening. That's the most disappointing thing about it.

Have to fix the glaring defensive breakdowns especially when they set a high pick and roll and for goodness sake quit being lazy and switchING off ball screens between guards AND SHAQ OR DEDRIC

It's a terrible either/or...either we lose first game, because we are who we thought we were. OR we win the whole damn thing, and have to hear about Pastner making X number of NCAA tourneys. Meanwhile we will get absolutely blitzed Michigan St style in the tourney, but whatevs.

If Holy Cross can win 4 road games to win their tourney, why not us?

That works out to about 18-1. I'd take those odds.
