I cannot believe FIU, though-- with that huge student population-- cannot get more folks to their hoops games. Their athletics department is sitting on their collective asses and just cashing their paycheck-- no thinking "outside the box". The Golden Dazzlers are worth the price of attendance.

At MT--- I"ve always thought we needed a "Bruce Pearl" type of coach for football (rah-rah guy). And wins, of course.

Heck, Rick Insell, our women's coach, draws the 14th largest attendance in the nation-- he has sort of a cult following. He is a Barnum & Bailey type of guy. Self promotion and winning works.

FAU should promote the hell out of that baseball team (but hard to compete with Spring Training, I guess)

That and the stadium is a 01-rivals hole. As much as I love FAU football I swear if I the powerball, I am getting Baseball a quality stadium. They are without a doubt are most successful program. It just doesnt generate revenue.

Well, we at MT had the same problem. Built a new state-of-the-art baseball stadium and haven't made the NCAA Tourney since 03-weeping

I once peed in the bathroom urinal at the baseball stadium and then noticed that the drainage pipe was not connected ..............

Can't argue with you about the apparent lack of effort by the AD. As bad as it looks this pass season, it was a noticeable improvement over pass seasons.

I, as was many USM fans, were probably happy to have the tourney in Birmingham as it would be an easy drive as well as USM has a small but decent fan base there. But then Tyndall happened and USM has been ineligible since then. 03-hissyfit03-hissyfit

Between the two schools they averaged around 1800 fans. This "voice" is one of those crazy voices in someone's head. No way the tournament will ever be in South Florida.

When we played those two games down there you could have set off small explosive devices and not injured anyone. MTSU had more fans at the last game I attended there than those two had combining four games each. (actual butts in sets and not paid attendance). This whiner needs to go tie a rock to his ankles and jump in the Atlantic about 30 miles out.

AGREED. One of his post was devoted to how many empty seats were in some of the venues. I realize USM doesn't have the fan base to support hosting an event but if this guy complained about empty seats in Birmingham, imagine the empty seats if the venue was at FAU. I saw a few of their home games on ASN and there was no way there was more than 500 people at some of the games. Birmingham is about as central as it gets to get good crowd support from a majority of the teams. There will NEVER be a solution to pleasing all the fan bases as it will always be too far away for teams like UTEP, FAU, and FIU when it's a "all around neutral" as well a majority of the time for UTSA, Charlotte, ODU, and Marshall for "somewhat neutral" site. I do understand the point I feel like he was trying to make in that it's never a close proximity for FAU but the only way to fix that problem is to find someone to pony up the money to bring it to the FAU area.

If this guy is worried about empty seats for his game maybe some of their fans should have showed up? We brought more fans to FAU and FIU than both squads will bring in Birmingham combined. Stop whining and look in the mirror dweeb.

Again, this is FAU's voice, he does not speak for FIU.

What #s did MTSU send to the tourny last year and this year? 07-coffee3

Is that a serious question? We've always been one of the best traveling fanbases to the tournaments as long as I've been a fan. I did it as a student four years in a row(Lafayette, Mobile, Hot Springs, Hot Springs).

Each time I have to listen to another schools broadcast team (Esp the student radio broadcasts) I become more thankful that Marshall has Steve Cotton and the students at WMUL.

Cotton isn't a homer and has a nice even voice the whole broadcast. Our students who work and broadcast out of WMUL (Marshall radio station) get excited ever so often but they for the most part stay professional.

The guy is KooKoo for CooCoo Puffs. I know a few Marshall fans that go watch every Marshall basketball game, Home and Away. They have always said they could count the people in the stands and at a Marshall game its never been over 500 in the stands.

So I call BS on FIU/FAU putting on a great tourney.
