Internet words
I wish someone would write an article on how words become popular on the Internet. I'm sure there's a doctoral linguistic student (or 10) on it by now.
Words that you rarely saw like janky, salty, etc. suddenly are so overused that you see them everywhere.
The English language is investing and complex but it seems that the lowest common denominator always determines what's popular.

Another word that is overused?
Okay, you have a point and I, too, would like to understand the phenomena, but for a different reason. Language is cool, philology has always been an interest of mine.

A word I never saw before the Internet, but I see all the time now, is "butthurt".

Good one. Same here. I'm not 100% sure what it even means.

RE: Internet words
The spelling of 'lose' has evolved to being spelled 'loose'.

Me either, but I have a pretty good idea.
