ESPN Article: Can UH win CFP championship? I believe!
Would love to know what the rest of the story says... but not enough to subscribe to Insider just to read that one article. 03-drunk

Anyone already a subscriber, care to summarize?

Believe it: Houston can win the CFP title in 2016

Answer: No

That early game against Top Ten OU with senior QB Baker Mayfield is key to the season.
Then to close the season playing Louisville and their phenom QB reinforces the argument.
I see a magical cocktail there. If there isn't a run on teams running the table, I don't see how they can be excluded.
Especially if OU or UL win their conference.

Btw, I see OU winning the Big12-2.

If houston beats both of them and runs the table they have a great shot at getting to the finals. But, thats a really, really big if. The odds will not be in houstons favor.

Houston has the chance with their senior QB Ward that UCF lost out on when Bortles left after the Fiesta Bowl.

They're finally starting high enough in the rankings to get the push. I would have loved to have seen a complete UCF team get that chance.

Ward Jr is the X factor.

I for one wish Houston all the luck in the world. I hope they're undefeated entering the Conference Championship game. Then get stomped by USF, who's also undefeated.

We can all have our dreams, yes? 05-stirthepot

Houston can win but will the committee look favorably on them? You saw the rankings last year, including dropping them out of the top 25 after merely one game.

Totally different circumstances... That team had just fired their coach... This one is coming off a lopsided NY6 win against Florida State.
Next year will be viewed as a progression of this year, especially with a Senior QB.

I hope so but the committee has tended to be more biased than the BCS system, which somewhat took bias out of the question other than the poll component.

There's going to be 4 or more undefeated or 1 loss P5 teams at the end. An undefeated Houston team won't jump any of these P5 teams. Like it or not, the committee is biased. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 2 loss Bama team with a tough schedule ahead of an undefeated Houston team.

I'll remind Ward and Postma to not both get hurt.

True. Even though I think Coach Herman said "Awe fnck it!" cause the game really did not matter in the long run. Beating UConn would not have improved our situation last year and the only people who care about that loss are UConn fans and other fans on this board that like to hold it over our heads.
