Announcement : Guesses to when it comes or happens
It seems to me that in the paper, on the radio shows and the like from people with sources who should know over the last week or two have all been going towards them all saying Josh will be back next year strictly because of finances. I wonder when do most people think it will happen? Its starting to be the worst keep secret in the city and at some point they're gonna have to tell people. It'll be interesting to see how long they wait because they're probably gonna try to mitigate the damage and manage the public relations debacle its sure to be. The most important thing is of course is trying to staunch the season ticket bleed out so that may have a lot to do with when it comes.

They'll probably try to wait till the last possible minute because of that.

What do those of you on here think, especially the season ticket holders?

If they keep him, there is no need to really announce anything.

If they don't announce right after the season that Josh will be back, that's a good sign for Tiger fans (except 4)

RE: Announcement : Guesses to when it comes or happens
There are 2 deadlines for TSF donors - may 15th for folks like us who pay lump sum and June for those who choose a payment plan.

It's going to be interesting - if they are planning on letting him go, do they announce immediately without having a coach in place? Most good coaches will be going to the dance.

One theory is to stop the bleeding of TSF donors before the May 15th deadline but if you do that without a coach ready to sign on the dotted line the results could be as bad in terms of lost revenue.

We haven't decided what we are going to do yet.

What a disastrous contract...

I think if he's retained there will be a season-ending press conference (though I don't think there was one last season...which was silly) but I don't expect there to be an official "he's coming back" media release or press conference.

RE: Announcement : Guesses to when it comes or happens
Sometime between the last game we play in and a week or so after the NCAA tournament is over. The deeper we go into that period the less likely it is we drop him unless something changes the equation like several defections by players that are/should be contributors.

The Championship game is on April the 6th. A week later is Wednesday, April 13th which is also the start of the early signing period. You'd want someone hired by then. If we're past Tuesday of that week there's no way it's going to happen.

But realistically, if they're going to do it it will probably be the week following whatever the last game is.

Honestly, if he comes back then the administration must feel very good about their chances of getting a big 12 invite

What if he is let go, but people still don't want to donate to TSF due to the team still being terrible next year no matter who they hire. then they are on the hook for the length of the contract AND paying the new coach without any extra donations. #GlassHalfEmpty

Short of an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance, if Paz is not canned within 72 hours of the end of the season then he'll be back for another year. He won't deserve it but that doesn't mean he won't get it.

If he gets to the NCAA S16 then he'll probably Cuonzo out of here otherwise that'll buy him another couple of years and a contract extension although probably not a raise.

He's already been paid in advance for a couple of NCAA Sweet 16 appearances.

It will happen on 4/4/2016 after a miraculous run to the Elite 8...Pastner will be vindicated and leave us for greener pastures.

Simple. If he's gone, I'll pay the TSF donation and buy the 6 lower bowl season tickets as in the past, going back to the MSC days. If Josh is still here, I'm not.

Wait you expect on announcement that he is staying? Why would they do that? They aren't going to be like hey we aren't firing him, remember how stupid LSU looked when they basically did that

I wondering if any other school had ever made an announcement to not fire a coach. I had never heard of it.
