He's clearly not helping himself. Some scouts said he was "difficult and aloof" at the combine. He better have a hell of a pro day.

Much like the last few games and the bowl game. I sure hope he gets it together and realizes his potential.

Haven't seen anything indicating that. Actually have seen the opposite with him getting rave reviews in his interviews.

god I hope you're report is correct. I haven't looked. The aloof thing doesn't make sense.

To be fair, it said difficult or aloof...not both. And other reports say he was impressive. But, I think we are clearly seeing his stick drop some.

RE: Paxton Lynch Draft Profile
The way things are developing, the Cowboys could get Paxton later in the 1st round at a much cheaper pricetag than #4.

They have more pressing needs on defense now, so they may take a defensive player at #4, then trade up later in the round and take Paxton.

Its not a far fetched scenario at all. Paxton would be worth mortgaging your 2017 1st round pick if it meant getting two first round talents in 2016. The cowboys could then fill 2 big needs in one draft, a blue chip defensive talent AND 1st round caliber developmental QB.

If they like Paxton, its smart to just trade that 2017 1st round pick and cash it in now. Pull the trigger, get Paxton AND still take a player at #4.

If Paxton falls all the way to the 2nd round, then you don't even have to trade the 2017 pick away. The further he falls, the cheaper the price.

Eagles swapped picks with Miami, so they may end up with Goff instead.

For Cowboys fans, this is a good thing.

They often trade UP to get a player they really want. Even in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

After taking Travis Frederick with their 1st round pick in 2014, they traded up to the top of the 2nd round and took DeMarcus Lawrence after he had slipped out of the 1st round. So they wound up with BOTH guys.

This is probably what they are hoping happens here again. Let Paxton slip on down, then swoop him up for a 2nd round price.

The offensive line picks the Cowboys have taken over the last few years have been stellar.

Getting rid of Murray to run behind that line was epic stupid.

Local talk shows still projecting a DE or LB at #4

Time to stop posting that uninformed nonsense. You've been corrected on it multiple times.

He was offered a fat contract to stay, a fatter contract to leave. He made the decision to leave. No one "got rid of him". He signed a FA contract with a division rival.

If you want to argue they should have OVERPAID Murray, then fine. But that is not "getting rid of him".

Murray got greedy and now his career is in a tailspin. He's been traded to the titans.

It depends on what happens the next week in FA, but a defensive player seems to be a lock now. If they can't bring back Claiborne and keep Carr at a reduced price, they may take a CB. I think they are going to try and keep both those guys. They also have Orlando Scandrick returning from injury this year.

A Passrusher is what makes the most sense. This is not a very deep draft for edge rushers though, and there are some rumblings that Bosa may be a bit overrated. I think they need to bring Greg Hardy back for 1 more year and look for another DE in 2017. Take a DT or LB this year. OR TRADE DOWN AND GET MORE PICKS.

This all means no QB at #4 (so no Paxton). But with Paxton slipping some, the door opens for them to make a trade for him later in the draft.

They didn't want him. Jerry thought he could replace him.

If Jerry (or Stephen) had made Murray feel wanted or needed, he would have accepted the contract.

Murray probably did get greedy at that point. And made a mistake.

Interesting idea with Paxton going to Broncos. He would fit behind Brock without changing anything no matter who is getting reps. Easy for an offensive line that currently needs all the help it can get. That said, the Broncos' picks are probably going to fix that line unless trades result in some new blood coming to the line.

No, they did NOT make a mistake.

RB's have a short life span. They had no business paying Murray the type money he was offered by Philly.

This is silly point anyway. The running game was NOT a weakness for the cowboys last year.

Osweiler's stock will probably never be as high as right now...makes sense.

I hope he doesn't go to Denver...I don't wish having to fill Peyton Manning's shoes on anyone, not even after a crummy year.
