I'm more than familiar with NIU from UCF's cup of coffee in the MAC, prior to jumping to CUSA.
If NIU wants AAC consideration, you're about 10 years behind in your progression. You may want to consider CUSA membership, while you work on academics and basketball.
At least that will get you more exposure in a footprint that has more overlap with the AACs.

Yawn, I tried to watch the game yesterday but there was the new rule in place that told Cincinnati not to shoot the ball until there was 5 second left on the shot clock for the love how many time did yall run the "picket fence".

Because it is a top five city with lots of things to do?

Our last NCAA win came in 1984. You can't suck for that long and draw fans in a city in which you compete with the Rockets, Texans, Astros, Owls, Tigers, and Huskies as well as the Aggies, Bearkats, and Cardinals within an hour or so drive.

It's really that simple. Attendance will increase next year with an NIT run or an improbable NCAA berth.

Duke, UNC, Texas, FL, and a few others do fine. I general basketball is more popular in the north.
